Stamp Ink Paper: Colors of Thanksgiving #71

Thanksgiving

I can’t get over how stinkin’ cute the Halloween Cookie Cutter stamp set is.  I have used this set more than any new set from the Holiday catalog.  The set can be purchased in a bundle (link below) and I guarantee it’s going to become one of those highly sought after punch and sets after it’s retired.  However, this card was made for the Stamp Ink Paper Color Challenge.

Stamp Ink Paper

I love these colors for the challenge this week?  Why?  Because they are so different and they remind me of the crisp cool colors of Fall leaves.  They remind me of when I lived in New Jersey.  Isn’t it so awesome how three colors take you back in time and sparks a memory that makes you miss the East Coast?

Thanksgiving

The Details:

  • Watercolored Made Easy.  Ever since Stampin’ Up! removed the Blendabilities from its inventory (due to production issues) I have missed using a coloring pen that is easy to blend.  Watercoloring has always intimidated me and I told myself to stop being a cry-baby and just use it!  So I did!  The trick to fading is to continue to color even after the color seems to have faded. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t have to be perfect.  Now, I can’t stop watercoloring because it truly is so easy!!!
  • Ombre Look Without Reinking.  To give the sentiment an ombre look I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the stamping to line up perfectly.  After making sure it had a good amount of ink on the rubber I simply continued to stamp until the ink faded.  I think I can safely say continuous stamping to create an ombre look is a no brainer.

Pals Paper Arts: Sketch by Susan Itell

Pals Paper Arts

That’s right folks it’s another lovely Thursday and you know what that means!  It’s card challenge day and I’ve created something simple you can use any designer series paper to make it.

Pals Paper Arts

This week our fabulous Susan Item came up with a design that can put together by a beginner card maker as well as an advanced crafter.  Take a look at what the team has come up with and let it inspire you at the Pals Paper Arts card challenge.

Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Simple Straight Cuts. Doesn’t get any easier than this folks.  I cut the designer series paper in five thin strips and simply spaced them a tiny bit to give them a spread out look.  Nothing hard at all!  Just make sure to keep the design in same order to keep the design together.

Stamp Ink Paper: Love

14232041_10153815158103531_6990823276322308668_o

I’m in Love with anything creative and handmade and so is the rest of  the Stamp Ink Paper Design Team.  Today we made our cards to reflect anything about Love and my card is a birthday card to my great-uncle who will turn 69 in a couple of weeks.  Join us this week and show off some LOVE at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge blog.

Stamp Ink Paper

Sometimes I have no idea what my cards will come out when I’m not using a sketch.  So, I go at it blindly and so far, I’m always pleased with the outcome.  I’m a little jealous of card-makers who can whip out a card in an hour or less.  I totally admire their talent.  This one took me 2 days…oh my.  But, it’s the love I have for card-making that doesn’t matter how long or how little it may take.  Anything made with LOVE is totally worth it.

Stamp Ink Paper

The Details:

  • Sunken Heart Cutout.  After adhering the Playfull Pallette DSP to Basic Black Cardstock, I used a heart from the Sweet & Sassy collection to cut out the heart.  I then doubled up the Stampin’ Dimensionals to add height to the cutout.  The heart with the 69 was adhered to the base first before the frame before the Stampin’ Dimensionals were applied (hope that made sense).  Doing so allowed me to center it perfectly on the base.
  • Tricky Hello Thinlits. There are endless types of glue one can use to apply very thin embellishments, but know that you don’t need to purchase tons of different types of glue.  Stampin’ Up! has the most strongest Fine-Tip glue pen that works extremely well.  No need to run it through another type that requires another gadget. I love it!!!

The Details:

  • Almost a bobble-head. I said ‘almost’.  I punched the head and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensionals and I just noticed it looks like a bobblehead…LOL!
  • What about that tail?  Can you say snip it with another Stampin’ Dimensional. It just gives the little cutie pie a little umpf.
  • Water colored background.  I actually stamped the image first and them very carefully used the Aqua Painters to paint the background.  I have to paining talent and it just shows that you don’t need to know how to water paint to do a good job. =)

Pals Paper Arts #320: Sketch by Dawn Tidd

Thank You Pals Paper Arts

Happy Thursday and welcome to another edition of Pals Paper Arts, a sketch by Dawn Tidd.  She gave us a sketch that truly challenged my imagination and I love it!  It’s one of the main reasons I have such a love for card-making.  There’s no right or wrong way of putting it together and it’s a direct reflection of our heart.

Pals Paper Arts

It’s been a little over a year since joining the Pals Paper Arts and I have loved every minute of it.  Being a member of the team makes me feel like I’m amongst the stars.  I wish for you to join us this week and shoot for the stars at Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Thank You Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Designer Series Paper as the Star. Often Stampin’ Up! has some of the most beautiful paper so that it doesn’t need to be stamped on to show off it’s gorgeous color and design.  This is one outhouse designer series papers that needs to thrills.  To give it a hit of pow I layered it with cardstock to show the division the actual sketch.

blooms-and-blossom

  • One Stamp Card. We give a greetings cards to wish someone a Happy Birthday, to say Thank You, or just to say Hi.  My card is obviously to say thank you.  The sentiment came from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set that has been around longer than I’ve been a demonstrator.  It’s one of  those sets that has a greeting for every occasion…I kid you not!

Teeny Tiny Wishes 127802

  • Butterflies in Flight. To finish off the design I added two to add a little pop to the card front.  Every butterfly also deserves some bling and that is why my butterflies will always be decorated with basic rhinestones.

Maggie

Stamp Ink Paper: Sketch Challenge

Stamp Ink Paper

It’s once again the day after Monday and time for a wonderful card sketch challenge with Stamp Ink Paper!   Today I want to share with you my love for this bold strong gorgeous tree.  It’s only being offered while supplies last and as of now they still availability.  Through the years of being a demonstrator, I have been able to get a feel for items that will become highly sought after it’s retired.  My friends, this is one of those items and so many people will be looking for it on my Retired Stampin’ Up! Facebook page.

Stamp Ink Paper

The Details:

  • Peals & Sequins. Mix it up and be different!  I don’t dare to be different, I am different.  After the different size pearls were added the tree just looked lonely and it was missing something….so I added sequins.  Come to think of it I’m obsessed with the number three (don’t ask why) and if you’ve ever taken a close attention to my cards that have sequins, you will ALWAYS only find three of them (LOL).  So, ho on be different!

Stamp Ink Paper: 3D Project, Tag or Home Decor!

Stamp Ink Color Toilet Paper Rolls

Happy Tuesday! Today’s two projects were made for the Stamp Ink Paper 3D Project, Tag or Home Decor challenge and my projects pretty much meet all three criteria choices, although they didn’t have to.  I’ve been saving toilet paper rolls for about two years now and now that I have no more room to store them, I better start using them.  The one on the left was made with retired paper with the exception of the cutest currently Mummy from the Cookie Cutter Halloween collection.  The candle I found on Pinterest.

This week I will make roughly about 80 of the fat pillow treats on the left.  Instead of just handing out treat for Halloween, I’ll be giving each child one toilet paper roll each. they will be filled with two candies a piece…or maybe three. I gotta see how many will fill in each.  Oh I can’t wait to see the looks on their cute little faces.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

After putting together the projects I realized that they were both 3D, both had tags on them and the candle is actually a home decor piece!  But you don’t have to do the same, just pick one and show us what you’ve made at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.

Cookie Cutter Halloween

The Details:

  • Toilet Paper Roll.  This is what two years of saving TP rolls gets you…a crafted candle.  I used hot glue to adhere the battery operated tea-light that can be purchased by the dozen at the dollar store.  I even put some on the Gingerbread kid’s forehead to give it the drip look.
  • The Sentiment.  Thank goodness the photopolymer gives a little flexibility because I bent it just so slightly so that it would stamp in the shape of the banner punch.
  • Doily’s Finishing Touch.  The center of the doily is a perfect fit on the TP roll and it can be cut with scissors to make it easy to slid it down.  To get it to adhere perfectly I cut small snips on the bottom of the roll and folded them outward and used a tiny bit of multipurpose glue so the doily would lay flat.  Does the make sense?

Pals Paper Arts: Ginger Bread Kiddo

Pals Paper Arts

Welcome to this weeks Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge!  This is hands-down one of my favorite punches and the variety of stamps are amazingly too cute NOT to own!  I assure you this stamp set is going to be one of those craze gotta have sets and I highly encourage you to get it pronto before they run out!  The Designer Series Paper is also another favorite.  However, I plan on stocking up and making sure I have enough to make at least 100 Christmas cards.

I wanted to make the Ginger Bread Kiddo look like he was swinging from house to house and used Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine to allow it to repel across the card.

Stamp Ink Paper: Monochromatic

Stamp Ink Paper

What other way to say “thanks” instead of stamping it!? By using the Hello You Thinlits is the perfect way.  I’ve had this die-cut for a while, but have only began using it the last few weeks.

Stamp Ink Paper

Can’t wait to see your blue’s over at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #65.

The Details:

  • Monochromatic Fade with a Die-Cut.  To cut each color in one strip I cut three separate pieces of cardstock in their respective color and used scotch tap on the back then ran it through the Big Shot.  Since the scotch tape held it together it was easy to apply the Fine-Tip Adhesive glue to the back.

Pals Paper Arts: Check Out the Fiesta!

img_1730

Yesterday was my son’s birthday and for the past 20 years I have always made him a birthday card with red as the main color. I wanted to change it up this year and decided to make it a lively card.

UPDATE:  I just realized, I’m a week late and $100 dollars short! After I returned from my 30-day vacation across the United States I seem to have left my mind on the road. Today’s card was for last week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge.  I better get with the program right!?  Anyway, enjoy the card and I’ll get caught up now!

Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Flexible Photopolymer.  The best feature I absolutely love about the photopolymer stamps is its ability to slightly bend and stick on a block.  I first laid the line stamp on the whisper white and slightly bended it so it would show a very slight curve.  It turned out perfect.
  • Add Embellishments. Often after we finish off our cards we take a double look at them and realize they’re missing a little something-something.  What that happens I pull the rhinestones out of hiding and find a spot on the card to give it an enchanted appearance.  I know this card may seem a bit feminine because of the bright colors, but the boldness speaks both genders to me.  My son LOVED it and he even loved the rhinestones!  Proof masculine cards don’t have to be neutral and without embellishments.

Stamp Ink Paper: Clean and Simple #64

Stamp Ink Paper Thank You

Do you remember the Swallow Tail that was retired?  So many were disappointed when it was retired, but if you have the Butterflies Thinlits dies you can emboss the large butterfly without cutting it all the way through.  Have you ever ran a die-cut through your Big Shot and the die-cut was too worn out?  Well, you can duplicate that same effect with any die-cut and rubber mat.  See the details below.

SIP 64

I’d love to see you try this technique and play along with us at the Stamp Ink Paper this week.

Stamp Ink Paper Thank You

The Details:

  • Emboss with a Die-Cut.  To emboss with a die-cut all you have to do is replace the bottom plate with a Silicone Rubber mat!  Yes, that’s all you need! If the sandwich is a little too thin when running it through, simply add a piece of cardstock under the one you’re cutting.  Still to thin?  Add another. =)
