Stamp Ink Paper: Wonderful Wings

Butterflies

Today’s card is a colorful one and it represents ‘wonderful wings’.  I have loved butterflies my whole life and each time Stampin’ Up! releases a butterfly set, that’s right, I buy it!

SIP #63

Hope you join the Stamp Ink Paper team this week and come up with something with ‘Wonderful Wings’.

Stamp Ink Paper #63

The Details:

  • Ornament Die Cut Butterfly.  I used one of the ornament die-cut’s (white arrow below) .  I trimmed it to the shape of butterfly wings and cut it in half.  The butterfly body, in basic black ink came from Watercolor Wings as well as the antennas.

Pals Paper Arts

Today’s post ends the last day of my 30-day vacation.  It’s been real, it’s been fun and the entire road trip across America was all REAL FUN!  It ends with the sun shining bright and looking forward to sleeping on my own bed.  Today’s card was made a month ago for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Amy Lazzell is the creator of this very cute sketch.  She has an awesome eye for design and gave me the perfect challenge to make something different.  Please join us this week at the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Stamp, Ink, Paper: Thank You Color Challenge

Stamp Ink Paper

I absolutely love the colors that were selected for this weeks Stamp Ink Paper Challenge and I hope to see what you come up with too.

1

Stamp Ink Paper

The Details:

  • Pedal On the Edge.  I didn’t want the sentiment to look plain on the whisper white cardstock and chose to stamp it with one of the pedals stamps around the edges with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  It’s my go to ink these days for images that will be colored in with our Stampin’ Write markers.  The ink also stands up to watercoloring and I can’t stop using it instead of any other inks because it doesn’t bleed.
  • Colored in Pedal.  To used the gray pen in the Neutrals Stampin’ Write marker set because I also used a couple pieces from a retired punch left from Smoky Slate cardstock.

Pals Paper Arts: Sketch Challenge by Linda Callahan

Pals Paper ArtsThere are times in our lives when everything goes off kilter.  This card may have been a premonition and once I summarize you may agree.  When I completed Linda’s spectacular sketch I had to make about five cards because I was preparing to undertake a three and a half week vacation across the US in my hubby’s Mini Cooper (oh fun)!

Two weeks into our vacation, I received that dreaded 5 AM call…dad’s in the hospital.  This card is now how I feel….gloomy. It just goes to show that often what we see takes a different twist on how we feel.  I really love the new Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack and when I made the card it looked like the sky blended with the ocean with a bright sun behind it…at least that’s the look I wanted to achieve.
Pals Paper Arts

It would be such an honor if you entered the challenge this week and I’d love to see your card over at Pals Paper Arts.

Stamp, Ink, Paper: Come Sit By Me

Stamp Ink Paper

I seriously am the friend your friend warns you about before you meet me.  Once you get to me you too will become afraid of what will come out of my mouth without warning.  I think it began shortly after joining the military…my filter came off and never put it back on again.  But don’t worry, I’m always very pleasant and never mean-spirited, it’s always done in a professional manner to make you smile.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

I’ve really been wanting to use this stamp for such a long time.  It’s not Stampin’ Up! and I purchased it at a craft show a few years back. I can’t even remember who made it, except that it an old saying I’ve seen on t-shirts and coffee mugs.  I’d love for you to see all the other funny cards created by the fabulous Stamp Ink Paper crew here.

Stamp Ink Paper

The Details:

  • Make Your Own Wall Paper Background.  To make the wall paper I used the masking technique and stamped Wilma (not her name, I made it up) on a post-it and snipped her out and put it over the stamped image.  Then simply used the lines in Gorgeous Grunge to stamp in the background to give it the wall paper lines in the background.  It looked really plain when I stamped Wilma and created the background after I was done with the card.
  • Coloring. I made this card the night before I was leaving for vacation and I apologize, but I can’t remember which exact colors I used for Wilma’s clothing colors. But you can use your own favorite colors. I don’t know how to color coordinate…after spending 25 years int he military, I never color coordinated, I was just told what to wear….LOL.

Stamp, Ink, Paper: You’re My Anchor

Stamp Ink Paper

Today’s card was made for the Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge #58. I’m not much of a punch artist, but today’s card is a little bit nautical and one little fish that I made with the bow builder punch.  I didn’t make a video or anything, but follow down below to read how it was made.

SIP-Challenge-58

Join us this week the SIP here.

Stamp Ink Paper

The Details:

  • The Fish: With the Bow Builder punch the bow tie without the rectangle strip (you won’t need it). Use the fin looking piece to back the back of the fish.  With the longer piece you’ll need to use your paper snips to trip one side of the bow to make it a little round (as desired, after all…it’s your fish) LOL.  Use the “eyeball” measurement to figure how much to cut on the other side so that the fin comes through.  Then just adhere it together and wha-la your punch art masterpiece.
  • Fishing String: Everyone knows that fishing string is clear and since we don’t have clear thread or ribbon I used our Silver Metallic Thread to symbolize the fishing string.  I twirled it around my fingers to create a rope like circle around my hand and then just adhere it to the back of the fish with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It gives the fish a little pop off the label.

Pals Paper Arts: Beer Party

Pals Paper Arts

Well what do you know, I’m the guest creator today for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and I thought I’d share my favorite (so far) Mixed Drinks stamp set paired with the Festive Birthday designer series paper.  What does this spunky DSP have to do with beer?  Well, if you’re Mexican you know that at every children’s party we (the adults) drink beer. LOL…true story, you just can’t make this stuff up.

Pals Paper Arts

It’d be an honor to see your sketches this week for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Corona or Budlight?  You can make the beer any type you want.  Mine was stamped with So Saffron because I wanted it to be light-colored like a Corona.  It’s the reason I also stamped the lemon slice.  Didn’t you know that Corona is even more refreshing with a slice of lemon?  For added flavor squeeze the lemon into the beer and you’ll get a nice refreshing surprise. LOL
  • A Whole New Meaning.  Step aside, “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” In my home it’s about every hour being a happy one!  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

JULY ON-LINE ORDERS.  Use Host Code CMMR9D62 and receive a gift from me  when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me.

Stamp Ink Paper: Black & White

IMG_0830

This card has absolutely no stamping on it anywhere.  It was created with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits dies and if you didn’t order it when it first came out then you’re going to have to wait a little while longer to get your hands on it.  Why? Because it’s so popular it’s on backorder until tomorrow and even then there may be less than 800 left.  Think they may have enough…I’d think again (LOL).

Stamp Ink Paper #57

Black & white is always beautiful no matter what you make with it and today on the Stamp Ink Paper challenge we’d love to see what you make with two very basic colors.  Go on, check it out here.

Stamp Ink Paper

The Details:

  • A Little Foam.  I cut out a little fun foam with the flower to give it a little dimension.  I didn’t care for the flatness on the card.  It’s white foam and it worked out perfectly on a black & white challenge.  I added a little bow with some Whisper White Baker’s twine because the stem looked so lonely.
  • An Error No More. What exactly does that mean? Well, you see the black strip of black cardstock across the top of the card?  That wasn’t a part of the original design, but I had the card upside down (yes that can happen) when I glued it on and I didn’t want to ruin it by peeling it off, so I just left it as is.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge (306): A Trio

Love You Lots Hostess

Never in the history of the whole five years that I’ve been a demonstrator have I used a new set more than once in a matter of three weeks….LOL. But the Love You Lots hostess is so cute that I know it’s going to become a highly sought after set, I just know it.

Pals Paper Arts

The Details

  • Seeing double.  No, the stamp set doesn’t come with two mice looking at each other. I used a clear sheet to transfer the stamped image onto the cardstock to give the appearance of the two looking at each other (in a loving way).  There is someone out thee for everyone even for mice.
  • Floating hearts. The versatile use of the Confetti Hearts punch came in handy with attaching the smallest punched hearts over the lady  bugs and mice.

Stamp Ink Paper: Case the Designer

IMG_0563Today’s card is especially special and a causes a littler nervousness because for the first time you get to decide which team member’s card you want to use as to enter today’s card challenge. When stamping it together I wondered would mine even be somebody’s choice. LOL  But as a card-maker I know that we make our cards for the love of the craft and not to mention the therapy is gives me.Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

To check out what other designs my team members came up with check them out here.

Remarkable You

The Details:

  • Easy Layout.  Stamped the leaves and flower on the matted whisper white piece with the same color matted for the sentiment. Although the flower is just as beautiful without color, the added color makes it more bright against the white background and uncolored leaves.
  • Embellished with Basic Peals and Sequin. The tiny pearls resemble the seeds that often fall from with the flower as it blooms and causes sneezing to those with seasonal allergies (LOL).  But do we care? We sure don’t because these flowers are stamped and are no cause for alarm…HA!

Maggie Made Tips:

  • Stamped Rainbow Sprinkles.  I used each of the new In-Colors to make the sprinkled background paper with the sprinkles stamp in the Party With Cake stamp set.
  • Sequin Correction.  At the time of card creation the sequin used were mistaken and they are no longer available via Stampin’ Up!, but if you place an order for any of the items used…I will send you a handful after the order is received.  Just remember DO NOT use the No Contact button or I will not know who placed an order.
