A Little Birdie Goes Tweet Tweet Tweet

My featured stamp set (For the Birds) wins my heart.  Why?  Because it is perfect for the beginner stamper.  It has seven different stamps to make your first creations with… from sending birthday wishes, tellin’ somebody you miss them, and even a Merry Christmas stamp!  This is a must have with your Starter Kit now!

I was lost in trying to use this very different paper pattern called International Bazaar.  I would never call it ugly, but I would say it gave me a little creative block (LoL).  I wanted to use my Adorning Accents Edgelits since buying them when they first came out and this was the perfect layout!

So I took the Daffodil Delight cardstock to help bring out the yellow in the Internation Bazzar Designer Series Paper and used the Adorning Accents Edgelits to frame the sides and the Beautiful Wings Embossilits for the butterflies.

Match your Designer Series Paper patters perfectly each time by using my handy dandy Coordinating Colors cheat sheet.  Feel free to print it and use it.  What better?  Sharing it with a friend.  Come on, share your secret and be a good friend.

Have You Ever Felt Butterflies in Your Stomach?

I gush with delight because this card came out perfect!  Finishing this card made me feel butterflies in my stomach… LoL.  It took me months to figure out my style and I will never stop repeatig myself… I’m a clean and simple girl.  Well, sometimes I’m a little dirty, but nothing that a little soap won’t fix… LoL… and I’m not implying soap in my mouth. =)

I often get feedback from friends that they are not creative.  Well, I hate to break the news to you darlings, but neither am I!  Everything I create comes from an inspired picture or fabric.  As simple as a tiled floor gets me thinking, “hey, I could cut paper and make it resemble that!” =)

I challenge you to simply buy one stamp set (and ink if you don’t have it)… yes just one!  I will send you enough paper with a layout, so you can recreate it yourself to make FOUR cards.  You will be very surprised and a little beside yourself.  You will say, “SELF, I CAN MAKE A BEAUTIFUL CARD!”  This I promise you.

A School House Friend (FMS #42)

This weeks Freshly Made Sketches #42 was perfect to use my new Story Time designer series paper.  After completing the card, I was reminded of my childhood best friend, Gabriela Gomez.  I met her on the first day of school in 1st grade and we where like peanut butter & jelly.  She was wearing a yellow chaffon dress patiently waiting for our teacher Ms. McCarthy.  Gaby went home to be with our Heavenly Father seven years later and I still miss her to this day.  Kenny Chesney reminds me of Gaby every time I hear his song, ‘Who You’d You Be Today.’

FUND RAISER FOR AUSTIN MOORE:  A little boy in my community is fighting leukemia.  You can read about him on his Facebook.  A local company is sponsoring a CHRISTMAS IN JULY for Austin Moore Fundraiser on July 14th at the Courtyard by Marriott in Vacaville, California.  I will also contribute by donating ALL profits for any Stampin’ Up! purchases made through me during the month of July.

TO PLACE YOUR FUND RAISER ORDER:

  1. Call me (707-646-1972), email me directly with your order, browse though the catalog, or shop on-line directly.
  2. ALL profits during the month of July will go directly to Austin Moore’s family to help with medical costs.

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:  The actual stamp has a little girl next to the little boy.  I covered the little girl with tape and inked up the boy.  Before stamping it, I peeled the tape off and only used the little boy.

A Retirement Hug with Pals Paper Arts #135

I made this card for a friend in mind who is deployed  at the moment.  I felt the wonderful hug tells a story without requiring a sentiment.  Time is quickly coming for the retirement of this stamp and the paper.  It instantly became my favorite and I know another will quickly replace it. =)

The hug is a sweet send off as this stamp officially retires as of June 1st and it’s perfect for the last Pals Paper Arts card challenge for the month of May.  I hope you are lucky enough to buy it before it goes away.  Click on the tree below to check out the remaining items on this year’s retirement list.

Stampin’ Up! a Hello Friend

A quick hello to a friend on the other side of the world.  He’s been gone for quite a while, but time is going fast and he will be home soon.  I continue going back to the Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack – Neutrals Collection because it’s perfect for masculine cards.

It’s so much easier to add pretty pearls, buttons, and rhinestones, but for a guy… I don’t think he would care too much for all the girly stuff.  I must say… this paper stack is perfect!

I used the Easy Events – Clear-Mount Stamp because it’s a matter of time before my friend will be back with his family. I added a small piece of Chocolate Chip card-stock underneath the Whisper White card-stock to prevent the white from drowning in the Crumb Cake base card-stock.
