Pals Blog Hope: From the Heart

Welcome to the Pals January 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “From the Heart” featuring heartfelt projects like Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and Sympathy. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Many card-makers share the same feeling about the need to make a Sympathy card.  It’s one we hate to make, but necessary in life.  This particular stamp from the Heartfelt Blooms collection is extraordinarily fascinating.  The rubber looks like any other, but the details that it leaves on the card-stock gives it such a realistic look, it’s amazing.  You can see the detail in the photo below.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on February 14, 2018. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that.

Pals Blog Hop: Cut It Out

Welcome to the August 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month we’re going to “Cut It Out”.  Participants will feature projects with “cuts” from punches, dies, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

The die used to make the township silhouette will be in the Holiday catalog which will debut next month.  This will be the first of many Christmas cards that I will make for my loved one’s this Christmas, my favorite time of year.  To give the yellow illumination in the windows and doors, I used my Aqua Painters with a little bit of Daffodil Delight ink and barely dabbed it on the cardstock.  It doesn’t have to be perfect and messy is even better. =)  Our Fine Tip glue is perfect for the miniature cut-outs, especially the edges of the roof tops.

The moon is not perfectly round and I used a Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight very lightly to give it a kind of dirty look.  I stamped it off to the side to remove a little bit of the ink.  Santa and his reindeer are from the Hearts Come Home stamp set, which will also debut next month in the Holiday catalog.  The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig came in so handy when stamping Santa and his Reindeer.

Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on September 13, 2017 for “My Favorite Season”.  Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you have to say about our creative “Cuts”.

Pals Blog Hop: Families First

Welcome to the Families First Pals Blog Hop for April 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations. You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. A family begins with love and that is what my project is about, a Bride-t0-Be frame for a special lady who got engaged a few days ago.  This lovely gift/project is so easy to make too! Literally, you just stamp, run through Big Shot, stamp and adhere to the designer series paper and boom…all done!  It’s cute and oh so adorable, I know any bride-to-be would love this.  I added tiny butterflies from the Perpetual Birthday Stamp set because my friend loves butterflies and they added a little personalization.

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Frame

My project consists of a special frame for a family member who went through a rough patch recently.  I put it in a frame and not a card because the sentiment is something I want her to see everyday.  Where did I get the frame?  It’s from an old Paper Pumpkin monthly kit that was used for Mother’s Day.  I love it because I have recycled it many times.  314-1

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

Maggie Made Tips:

  • Stamped Rainbow Sprinkles.  I used each of the new In-Colors to make the sprinkled background paper with the sprinkles stamp in the Party With Cake stamp set.
  • Sequin Correction.  At the time of card creation the sequin used were mistaken and they are no longer available via Stampin’ Up!, but if you place an order for any of the items used…I will send you a handful after the order is received.  Just remember DO NOT use the No Contact button or I will not know who placed an order.

To make my card for the hop, I broke out with some stamp sets that had a thick layer of dust on them (LOL).  No, seriously I can’t remember when the last time I used them.  Wait, I remember now, I used them this week to make my blog hop card.

Happy Easter

I haven’t used the Flower Shop stamp set or the Pansy Punch in quite a while and since the Spring reminds me of so many pretty flowers (along with my horrible allergies) I thought it would make the perfect Spring/Easter card.  Teeny Tiny Wishes has been my go-to sentiment since I became a demonstrator almost five years ago.  The Pansy’s were stamped on the free with purchase Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack.  It’s what gives it the shadow that comes through the paper.  I also punched the matching cardstock and layered it underneath the vellum to prevent the images from being washed out with the whisper white.  The card looked a little plain when I finished it, so I added some sequin from the 2013-2015 In-Color Assortment that is still available in the Clearance Rack…lucky you.  For a couple bucks, I’d grab a few because they’ll definitely last a very long time.  Come back in a couple days because I’ll be giving away TWO packs of the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stacks as blog candy.

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Every day when I start my day I begin with a time of reflection.  Whatever comes to mind, whether it was a good, bad, or ugly decision I ever made in my past I think about what could I have to make it better.  Not to dwell on it, but to learn from a past error in judgement and think of what I would do today if the same opportunity arose.  Today’s card is just that, a reflection of yesterday.  A time when we rode our bikes and had a face-to-face conversation.  So here’s to “thinking of you” Maggie (me, duh…lol) as a young kid who loved the sunshine (I still do) and the simpler days.

OSAT Blog Hop – Thank You

OSAT Hop Button

306.1

Today’s hop theme is ‘Thank You’ and I took the opportunity to show you a peek at some of the new Designer Series Paper and Stamp sets that are going to be coming around the corner in just a couple of weeks.  The Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set is probably the first ever stampable DSP you’ll ever see.  My product includes a card and gift box as a thank you gift.

Thank You

Not matting a designer series paper is perfect when the paper is saturated with rich colorful images such as this one.  There’s no need to highlight any of the leaves or flower…and besides, the leaves seem to have movement don’t they?  I kept the Take Out gift box simple and used a 12″ strip of the same DSP and wrapped it around the box with the reverse side of the paper.  I tied it off with a strand of Wild Wasabi Seam Binding Ribbon.

Thank You Box Gift

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my projects that will be given to a friend as a thank you gift.  Please continue the hop by click on the next button.  If you get lost, no worries…the blog hop list is below to help you find your way.  Have a blessed Christmas, Hanukkah, and Happy New Year!

Pals Blog Hop: Halloween and Autumn

Pals Blog Hope Badge

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October where we are celebrating an early Fall season by sharing Halloween and Autumn projects using our wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies.  We hope you enjoy our creations!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from the lovely Lynn Kolcun at Stamping with Avery’s Owlery, number 20 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

HalloweenSince I claim to not be a Halloween gal I went ahead and made a Halloween card.  Why say I’m not something when that’s all I do, what I say I don’t do.  Does that make sense?  If you can picture my face…it looks like the little ghosts in my card.

No other paper could complete my entire lay out like Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper.  Again, something I really don’t like to do, I did!  I snipped the baby, momma, and poppa ghosts from one of the designs.  It worked perfect, don’t you think? The tree from the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set worked perfect in the background.  In case you’re scratching your head about the tombstone…I used our Note Tag Punch. It’s important to emphasize that many of our products have dual uses and this card shows off just a few.  Let move on from my non-Halloween card making self and get on with the rest of the Pals.

The next stop is the super-duper Ninja hot Jackie Diediker at Stampin’ Jackie, number 22 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
