When I made my usual rounds to check in on one of my favorite card challenge blogs, Freshly Made Sketches, I knew immediately I had to use the Large Paper Doily.  I cut it in half to fit the challenge and used the sketch to Inspire me to Create the only thing I could Imagine.  I love bright bold colors and I felt the Rose Red card stock was meant to be married with the colors in the Twitter Pad Designer Series Paper.  I took it just one step further and embossed the doily, but the picture does not do it justice.  It gives it an ever so soft and subtle texture.  I know exactly who I will send this card to, but can’t mention it because this person checks my blog on a daily basis.  But you will know who you are when you see it in your mailbox.  =)

MaggieMade Tip:  When cutting doily’s or other intricate designs, such as this one… use a guillotine type paper cutter.  I thought I could use a paper slicer that has a pointy edge that slices paper and boy did I wish I had not destroyed the perfectly doily cutout.  Intricate lacy cuts need to be sliced straight down to achieve a perfectly clean cut.  Hope this advise helps you before it’s too late… =)

Summer Smooches Blog Candy:  Just a reminder that I will be announcing the winner on Mon., April 16th.  I will be using the Pick a Random number tool at http://www.random.org.  So, if you haven’t left a comment… there’s still time.  Go to Summer Smooches Petite Purse post and leave your comment.
