When I left home I pre-packaged ALL my designer series paper knowing that I would not get the new catalog designer series paper right away. Now that I finally received ALL the new paper, I have tons of scraps and retired paper.
So, I’m giving much of it away. The paper is cut in 6″x6″ cubes. How do you get some? Leave me a comment and tell me what you do with your scraps. Random winners will be chosen on Saturday, July 13th. You’ll just need to keep in mind the paper is coming from the other side of the world from where you are… LoL. U.S., CANADA, & MILITARY ADDRESSES ONLY.

I save my scraps to use with my granddaughter when we make cards together; she loves them and comes up with great ideas.
I’m insane. I do my best to not have scraps! Most of the time, when I cut into a page of 12×12 DSP, I make multiple cards and then immediately use the scraps to finish off more cards, usually by quilting or one of the other techniques mentioned by other commenters on this post. By the time I’m done, I have such small pieces that all I can do is punch flowers from the last remaining “schnibbles” of DSP. It’s challenging and very satisfying to me to use a full piece of DSP until it’s all gone. Not only have I completed numerous projects, but I don’t have to worry about where to store the DSP scraps!
Scraps!! Oh, I wish you could see my scraps!! I am hooked on DSP!!! Love love it! I just get so excited to see all the combinations of colors together! I keep all my scraps in a plastic shoebox. Yes, not very organized but I use them…..on anything……I Love to make quilt cards and diagonal DSP scrap cards. Hope all is going well in your world over there!! Prayers are with you!
Hello…My name is Pam…I have a paper addiction. I love to look at my paper. I do a lot of quilting techniques with the last little scrap….I do horizontal stripes, vertical stripes and diagonals….Thanks for all you do for your country and us as your blog readers. Have a wonderful day!!!
I use my scraps in so many ways, I belong to a monthly card class and when it is my turn, I try to use my scraps for the cards. Also I belong to a monthly swap and do the same. But my fave is to pick a color and see what scraps I can make work with it.
Maggie, I read your blog with great interest every day! Thanks for your work in keeping our country free! You are also an awesome Stampin’ Up! Role model!
I use every bit of my scraps! I make loads of cards! I send birthday cards galore to my church and school family (I am a teacher). As a hobby demonstrator, these DSP scraps would be well used on cards.
Thank you for all you do!
I am addicted to paper! If I really, really like a pattern I keep my last piece or sizeable scrap of it! They are great inspiration for color combinations, a variation I suppose on the Color Coach. I love to layer paper on my cards and also employ the ‘quilting’ technique. Thanks so much for sharing! Blessings for the service of our country.
I never throw away scraps. They are great to use with kids in children’s church to make things for their parents and also for my booth at the L’il Bita Christmas event.
How wonderfully sweet of you to do this…I use my scraps with my grandchildren, and a local Nursing Home…I do cards with them. God Bless you, as you serve to PROTECT!
I use my scraps. I sort them by main colour and store it in an accordian file box. I keep themed paper scraps together.
Scraps get cut down to basic sizes and then I use them on cards. They could be a double mat for an image or sentiment, or just be an added layer. depends on the size.
6×6″ is the perfect size to mat my 4×6 scrapbook photos with a 2″x6″ scrap left over. I use printed mats on solid pages. I also cut out the interior with my paper trimmer leaving a 1/2 border, so I end up with even more scraps at 3-1/2 x 5-1/2″. I can use them for smaller photos or punch designs for page embellishments. And then, I can always use them for making cards, which I’ve been doing since you deployed, Maggie. I need you to come home and play card-making with me again!
I never throw away anything either and use mine in a “sunburst” style or in a quilting style like others have mentioned. I use the new polymer stamps as well as Teeny Tiny Wishes to add a little greeting or saying using my scraps. Keep up the good work, I enjoy seeing your posts each day.
I really like to use designer paper scraps for making quilt inspired cards. They are also great to use as “flags or banners” which are so popular now. They also are great to use the flower punches with to make some cute flowers for cards. In other words, I never, never, throw away paper scraps.
Hi Maggie~ I was thinking about you on the 4th!! Thank you for all you and all of the military do for our country. I save my scraps in a box. Not in an organized way. I try to use a scrap before I use a new piece of paper~frugal!!
Well, I’m like Cindy, I never throw away designer paper either. I use them for tags, bookmarks, quilting and sometimes just to add a little color to a project, like punching out a design for the inside of a card or for an envelope. They are also great for backgrounds behind a punched area.
I always have great intentions for my scraps. Sometimes I even use them! Seriously, I use them for fillers on my cards. Sometimes you just need a little something. That’s where scraps come in handy.
Hi Maggie…Hope all is well. I have been quite sick and haven’t gotten your package mailed yet. I am hoping to soon! When you see the projects I am sending you, you will know what I use scraps for. =) I am a true punch-a-holic and use them for embellishing. Thanks so much for sharing. I love your card and your site. Your comments make me smile!
Leftover Stamp-in Up Paper scraps fill in so many blanks when I’m creating a card. They are great for gift tags and 3 x 3 mini cards!! I never discard paper scraps!
