The Leaves of a Tree

Tree Leaves

I've been memorized by the coloring ability of a crafter who was a technical architect prior to becoming a full-time stamper… Darlene DeVries.  She uses a variety of tools to include markers, inks, and other tools to teach others how to color.  I've been hooked on her skill and this is my first attempt at color leaves… LoL.

It's obvious I must keep practicing, but watch out now because here I come… LoL.  I have in my head the saying, "birds of a feather stick together" and I don't know why, but I want to say, "leaves of a tree roam free."  I have no idea why I keep thinking that. LoL.

Maybe because I love the Little Leaves Sizzlits and the many ways it can be trimmed to do what we want it to.  My next try was going be balloons, but I don't have any balloon stamps with me… I'll have tow wait to get home.

  1. Very pretty, and different. I wish I could get back my incentive to make cards! I don’t know where it went!

  2. Your wood grain is awesome. Love the little leaves die. That is my most used die ever. And, I really love how you used the bakers twine to tie the sentiment around the card. I love the little marks on each leaf. I will have to look Darlene up on the internet. I just learned to put little dots around leaves in trios. Turned out cute. You could use your Circle (or maybe and oval) punch and the Owl punch to make your own balloons. Use the owl’s feet for the bottom of the balloon like where they tie the balloon off. Love your card Maggie!

Happy Labor Day weekend. Have BIG fun! I know that you can create your own fun!

  3. Nice job Maggie…love the coloring.

  4. Love the coloring technique! Do you have your small oval and owl punches? Use the oval for a balloon and an owl foot for the balloon knot! Try it! Take care as you count down:-)
