A Heart of Gold with Pals Paper Arts

A Heart of Gold

Today’s card was made for a friend who lost his father last week and each item has a special meaning.  The tree is from Thoughts & Prayers and it represents life.  The hearts were colored in with a Real Red Stampin’ Marker with one heart filled in with Gold Glitz Dazzling Details, which is his dad’s heart because he had a heart of gold.  The embossed stars in the background mean that he is now among the stars watching over his loved one.

Heart of Gold

Maggie Made Tips:

  • Customize Your DSP. I absolutely love that we can color in the hearts from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper or leave it as is.  As I made the card for my friend I was reminded of the saying, “a heart of gold” and that’s when I decided to color in the hearts with real read and fill one in with gold.

Stampin’ Up! Sympathy & Prayers

Sympathy & Prayers

When I designed this card I had a great idea to make it a clean and simple stamped card. However, during the stamping process, I got a smudge of ink in the middle of the image. Oh no, what do I do!? For a second I rolled my eyes to try to see my brain and ask it, “what were you thinking!?” LOL… so, to practice what I preach about no such thing as mistakes in stamping, I got the Curly Label Punch to help me out. Heck when I fixed it I said to myself, “Brown-chicken, Brown-cow!” Boom! Fixed!

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Partial stamped image. How did I do that? I used the Marvelous Markers to just color in the portion of the leaves & branches I wanted from the flower twig in the Sympathy & Prayers stamp set. I huffed on it to re-wet the ink and pressed it down where I wanted the image.

RETIREMENT: It’s gonna sneak up on us, take a look here.
