My nationality/race/ethnicity is often confused by many and I am usually asked, “Where are you from?” The question has been asked since my childhood, so I know what people ask in a pleasant manner.
My family origins are rooted in Mexico and I am a first generation American. My first language was Spanish and I learned English in kindergarten.
