Pals Blog Hop: Hello Occasions

Welcome to the first Pals Blog Hop of 2015. We hope your new year is off to a great creative start. To celebrate the start of a new Stampin’ Up! year, we are showcasing products from our newest catalog this month – the Occasions catalog. You may also see new Sale-a-bration products too. If you don’t know how to earn free Sale-a-bration products – contact your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator to learn more.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Amy Whelan at Amy’s Inklings. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.

Valentine's Love

The Occasions/Sale-a-bration Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack is by far, hands down the number one DSP to use for ALL your Valentine’s Day project needs! It’s the only one I’ve used and I’ve already ordered two more packs.

I measured four times and cut once (in small segments) to create the spaced out look. For the letters I used my ever “other” so favorite Little Letters Thinlits Dies. This is one of those sets that I know I’ll keep forever and ever…even after retirement (not my retirement, but the letters. LOL)

The next stop is Becky Gifford at The Social Stamper on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you next month.

Beautiful Lotus Blossom

Flower

The Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set is simply stunning! It’s a three-step stamp process and you only have to use ONE color! However, I used two colors on this beauty and another one below.

UPDATE: I’ve received many requests on the colors I used for the Lotus Blossom above. This is how I did it.

Step 1: Stamp #1 with Blackberry Bliss and do not stamp it off to the side. It’s what will give it the rich dark color.
Step 2: Stamp #2 with Blackberry Bliss, stamp it on a scrap twice with mild pressure both times. It’ll change the color completely.
Step 3: Stamp #3 with Rich Razzleberry, stamp it with firm pressure once.

If you don’t get it right the first time adjust the pressure.

This is a FREE set during Sale-a-bration (starts Jan. 6th) and oh boy it’s so stunning. I’ll be showing it off on my Jan. 6th workshop too! I’m a blossom card-making fool…I just can’t stop stamping it. HA!

MAGGIE MADE THOUGHTS:

  • Making quick cards when short on time (sounds familiar right) is easy with layering. Use a color that matches the ink and boom…there you have it – ALL DONE!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

I wish you all had a very wonderful Christmas and you spent time with family and friends. We had our wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with King Crab Legs, Pot Roast, and all the trimmings. These last two weeks of the year are my favorite because it feels like two whole weeks of celebrating. Even if I have to go to work for a few days. LoL.
