Peeping Paul……What!?

Paul Wood You Be Mine

I affectionately call the lumber jack in the Wood You Be Mine stamp set Paul as in Paul Bunyan. He is just so adorable and I love his beard. I didn’t color in his beard because this Paul is a much more mature Paul…LOL.

Wood You Be Mine

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations

  • Make the focal point stand out. Initially, the lumber jack was placed on the  Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack (wood pieces), with Stampin’ Dimensionals, but he just didn’t look right. So my Circle of Pals member, Joy C. suggested I punch the paper and make Paul jump off the page. That’s exactly what I did. Thanks for your help Joy!
  • Paper Surgery. Did you notice the saw cutting off a piece of wood? To give the look of the saw cutting the wood I used an Xacto knife to trim the top half of the wood and slipped the saw underneath it and propped it up with a small piece of Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • How did I make the ring around Paul? I’m finishing up the video that shows you how and will post soon.  Sign up here to receive free blog updates and you won’t miss it.

Thanks for Your Support

This card was sent to a very special person who made a difference in my life when I was in the process of completing my professional military education.  Her name is Jo and she will probably never know how much her assistance made a difference in my career.  Thank you Jo!

This is the very first time I have tried this spray technique… I don’t even know if this is what it’s called, but that’s what I’m going to call it.  If somebody knows what it’s officially called… please leave it in my comments.

I filled the Stampin’ Spritzer about 1/4 full with alcohol and just one droplet of Early Espresso ink refill into the Spritzer and in three short spritz sprayed the card stock.  The picture does it no justice because it looks so much more fabulous in person.  You just gotta try it!

Until the Next Post…

Celebrate a New Year with Stampin’ Up!

I have always heard that we (women) should always have in our closets a little black dress for a night out.  Well, what about for men?  Perhaps they should have a bow tie ready for wearing instead of a tie.

I love love love our glimmer paper.  The pain is a heck of a whole lot less than actual glitter… LoL.  The inspiration for these glimmery bow ties came from {MOJO} Monday 272 sketch design by Carole Burrage.

To make the bow ties I used the Petite Pennants Builder to punch out some Champagne Glimmer Paper.  After I glued them together, I used the 1/2 circle punch to punch out some Silver Glimmer Paper to use as buttons in the middle of the two pennants cut out.  I added a strand of 3/8″ Taffetta Ribbon to add a touch of color to my card.

Stampin’ Up! a Hello Friend

A quick hello to a friend on the other side of the world.  He’s been gone for quite a while, but time is going fast and he will be home soon.  I continue going back to the Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack – Neutrals Collection because it’s perfect for masculine cards.

It’s so much easier to add pretty pearls, buttons, and rhinestones, but for a guy… I don’t think he would care too much for all the girly stuff.  I must say… this paper stack is perfect!

I used the Easy Events – Clear-Mount Stamp because it’s a matter of time before my friend will be back with his family. I added a small piece of Chocolate Chip card-stock underneath the Whisper White card-stock to prevent the white from drowning in the Crumb Cake base card-stock.
