Stampin’ Up! For You

Have you ever received a package and you get all caught up in the excitement of tearing it open because you feel like it’s Christmas?  That happens to me each time someone sends me a card or a care package.  It takes me back to my childhood and I love every minute of it.

But sometimes… as the box is torn open I start looking for a note, a card, anything with the resemblance of someone’s writing… just to find nothing.  Although I’m thankful and pretty excited about my gift… I can’t help but feel cheated… LoL.

So, each time I’ve sent  a few gift to family or friends I try to always enclose a little gift card like this one.  Well, maybe not just like it, but something quick and easy or clean and simple that says, “hey, this is for you.”

The center of my flower came from the A Round Array stamp set.  The A Round Array set gives you endless, adorable possibilities for cards, banners, and scrapbook pages.  It coordinates with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, which I did not use.

Instead I took a sponge dauber and lightly sponged around the stamp to give it a daisy look.  I do apologize, but the tiny leaves are from our last Sale-a-bration Bloomin’ Marvelous.  If you don’t have it, you can always use the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die and add a little dimension to it..

Stampin’ Up! a Love You

I am in love with the new Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series paper.  Talk about happy, bold, and bright all in one set of paper!  I sent this one home just the other day, but I won’t say to whom because my family keeps up with my blog.  I send my whole family a card, but with this one… I’ll let them be surprised… LoL.

This card layout is brought to you by Pals Paper Arts 161 sketch challenge

I embossed the scallop with one of the Mosaic Madness stamps in Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.  The silver heart was punched out with the tiny heart from the Two Step Owl punch.

Really!?

Yes, really!  This card was an inspiration of what kids say a lot now a days.  But they say it with an explanation point not a question mark… LoL.  There’s a very hardworking young man that works in my office and each time I do or say something that he thinks is funny this is his favorite line… Really!

I don’t think I’ve made a card in a long while that doesn’t have Designer Series Paper on it.  So, I surprised myself with this one.  It’s simple, it’s cute, and it makes a young generation statement.

What word(s) stand out in your mind of what you said in your or your children’s childhood?

Stampin’ Up! Millions of Thank You’s

My favorite saying is “A Million Thank You’s Are Never Enough!”  There has been countless people in my life that have gone out of their way to do things for me.  From the simplest things to bigger than anyone can imagine.  For each and every one of them… I am thankful!

In my entire working life I have had TWO bosses that have taught me important lessons in life.  During this deployment I found the THIRD one.  We call him ‘The Godfather’.  I’m not sure how he acquired that nickname, but it fits.

He’s protective of his staff, leads with conviction, and is living proof that laughter is the best medicine!  He plays devils advocate just to get you to think about a choice you’re about to make.  You know he’s around the moment you hear his laughter… and boy is it contagious.

He’ll be leaving us shortly for another assignment and I sure am going to miss him.  To him I say, “A million ‘thank you’s” are never enough for your leadership and best of all your friendship!

Have you ever had an unforgettable boss?  Do you consider yourself an awesome boss?

Lately, I haven’t been able to make a card without my Butterfly paper punches.  Here I used the Bitty Butterfly and it’s so petite and cute.  Quick tip… when I layer designer series paper with solid card stock, I don’t let the unseen card stock go to waste… I use it to punch out butterflies, tiny flowers, or anything else.  It’s a great way to maximize the use of your paper.

Not an Itty Bitty Polka Dot Bikini

WoW!  I am still so amazed, thankful, and grateful for your well wishes that continue pouring into my in-box.  A million ‘Thank You’s’ is never enough!

Today I bring you the cutest swimsuit created with the Dress Up framelit collection.  Please know that I did not come up with this oh so cute cut out all on my own.  I found it on a card that was sent to the Transit Center from a non-profit organization called From Our Hearts.

They send out hundreds of cards and send them out to deployed servicemen and women to send to their families.  I must say that although I am a card-maker and brought my own supplies, they have helped me out tremendously, so I support them because I know first hand how wonderfully blessed we are to get these for us to use.

There was no name on the original card, but it was beautiful and I have framed it for myself.  I know I’m a little selfish, but like a Picaso, the orginal is a true work of art.

Double Your Kindness

Double Thank You

I was overwhelmed with beautiful words of ‘Kindness’ from everyone who has visited my blog in the last few days.  These four cards are the perfect way to say “THANK YOU” for your kind emails, comments, and for those of you who now follow my paper journey.

I truly enjoyed reading your messages of support and appreciation for our military.  We truly are a great nation and I am proud to serve.

I love making cards and sharing them with my fellow Airmen.  I especially enjoy making sets, like these for my down-line, Circle of Pals.  They all share in Mary Fish’s awesome leadership and benefits.  We have an awesome virtual group and we give each other support and lots of encouragement.  Many of my Pals have sent me dozens of cards and I always share them on our private blog.

They have made this deployment an enjoyable one.  Everyday I check with our Xray Technician who doubles as our mailman and then we all gather around just to see what kind of card I have received.  It’s amazing the journey a card will take to reach me… I LOVE IT!

I get all the oooo’s and ahhhh’s and they comment on the cards.  This weekend I’m fixin’ to put some card kits together, so I can pass them around at work and they can make one for themselves.  My target?  The men!  LoL.

There’s No Such Thing as Too Much Bling!

I made this card to celebrate my one year Maggie Made Cards blog anniversary.  A huge THANK YOU is never enough to my younger brother, Frank. My vision for the blog has been to CREATE, SHARE, AND INSPIRE you!  I hope I am doing just that.  My eyes light up and if there’s any stress in my bones, it just withers away when I’m stamping. You too can brush up on your skills, whether you are a beginner or advanced card maker.  My goal right now is to introduce you to your greatest stress reliever! Will you take the Stampin’ Up! TEST DRIVE and get your starter kit before the New Year?  Make it your Christmas gift to yourself or maybe you can hint about receiving a Stampin’ Up! gift certificate. To create the rubies, I took colored in our basic rhinestones with a red Sharpie.  The secret to perfect flames is to place small pieces of Daffodil Delight on the smallest pear shapes on the Sizzlets Large Paper Doily as shown below and run it through your Big Shot.
