Shoebox Card Share

In the craft business there is a term we use called Copy and Share Everything (CASE).  As paper crafters we love it because it’s an honor when someone reproduces our designs and adds a twist to the original design.  Creativity spawns more creativity and it is meant to always be shared.

These cards came from the Shoebox Card Share I organize once a month.  We come together as papercrafters to share what we love and together we develop new skills, make new friends, and share what brings us together… papercrafting.

I believe the only card that is CASE’d below is the one belonging to Joy Cinotto.  I didn’t write down where she saw it when she showed us how to make it, but I know it was a new technique to me.  All the cards are just simply so pretty.  None of these ladies have blogs, so if you’d like to leave them a comment, I will make sure they see it.  Thank you so much.

If you are interesting in attending anytime, wether it’s once or twice you can find the dates we meet here.

Thinking of You Under the Tree

Thinking of you

Everyday someone becomes an Angel and everyday we carry our Angels in our hearts forever.  Losing someone we love is one of the most heart piercing moments we will all experience at one time or another.

For me, my first experience of loss was when my grandmother passed away.  I was only 11 years old, but I was fortunate enough to have spent so much time with her every summer when school was out.  To this day, 34 years later… I still miss her dearly and think of her daily.  She is my Angel.

This card is one of those that is so difficult to not only give to someone, but as a card-maker they are even more difficult to make.  Nevertheless, we must because at one time or another at whatever age we must go through the difficulty of losing a loved one.

Thinking of you

This particular stamp set has always been difficult for me to make.  For one, that tree!  I never know who to situate it on the card and I thought about layering it with grass, but I didn’t like the look of it and it made the oval shaped look awkward.  So, I decided on snipping it and stamped the backgroup with Versamark Ink.

Best Of Brides & Babies Clear-Mount Stamp Set 133482

Sure, these things happen all year long, but there is just something about spring that makes us think of weddings and babies. So what could be better for our May “Best of” set than a Best of Brides & Babies Stamp Set?  Click HERE to get yours now!

The most difficult time of a deployment is simply missing our loved one’s.  While we are deployed we need to keep our mind on the mission.  Sometimes it’s hard to understand why we don’t call home as often.  Not because we don’t want to talk to our loved one’s, but simply because more often it’s hard on us.  We are already far away and hearing their voices and sharing in the days events can become sad after we hang up the phone.  Then depression sets in.  No bueno.

So, I make sure to send cards.  That is why I brought my stamps with me.  But since there is so much happening at work, I have not had a chance to stamp.  I kind of knew that I wouldn’t be able to make as many cards in the beginning, so I made several before I left to have a few on hand.

Today, not only am I thinking of my loved one’s, but I’m also thinking and keeping in my prayer’s the families of our heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  With that, I dedicate this card to our fallen hero’s who make it possible to be FREE!

During my entire deployment, I am donating all profits from any Stampin’ Up! sales from my on-line store to my warrior friends where I am currently serving.  I will buy them what we crave to keep us awake while sustaining our mission 24 hours a day!

COFFEE!

I used my own funds to purchase my clinic a coffee maker and I bought a few boxes of it with my own funds, but my plan for the next five months is to use the profits from my on-line store is to buy my team more K-cup coffee.

Until the next post…

A Little Birdie Goes Tweet Tweet Tweet

My featured stamp set (For the Birds) wins my heart.  Why?  Because it is perfect for the beginner stamper.  It has seven different stamps to make your first creations with… from sending birthday wishes, tellin’ somebody you miss them, and even a Merry Christmas stamp!  This is a must have with your Starter Kit now!

I was lost in trying to use this very different paper pattern called International Bazaar.  I would never call it ugly, but I would say it gave me a little creative block (LoL).  I wanted to use my Adorning Accents Edgelits since buying them when they first came out and this was the perfect layout!

So I took the Daffodil Delight cardstock to help bring out the yellow in the Internation Bazzar Designer Series Paper and used the Adorning Accents Edgelits to frame the sides and the Beautiful Wings Embossilits for the butterflies.

Match your Designer Series Paper patters perfectly each time by using my handy dandy Coordinating Colors cheat sheet.  Feel free to print it and use it.  What better?  Sharing it with a friend.  Come on, share your secret and be a good friend.
