Friend to Friend, Teeny Tiny Wishes

I am now at a place where if I don't participate in a sketch challenge I feel like something is missing.  Picking out the paper and color is now my only obstacle.  I want to use some colors that I haven't been using lately, so I look at my stash and pick whatever cardstock has the most of my supply.

The Mosaic Madness stamp set is one that I have the most trouble trying to figure out how to use it.  I also felt the closest  paper that matches the set is the Quatrefancy Specialty designer series paper.  It came out okay… like I always say, practice makes perfect.

Mojo311SketchMy card sketch is brought by none other than Mojo Monday #311.  If you don't participate, give them a try… they have weekly sketches to sharpen your skill. =)

Stampin’ Up! a King for a Day

In chess the King is only as good as his Queen… LoL.  You can check out the previous Queen card post here.  The stamp set is from the You Rule Spring Collection, which will debut tomorrow!  Yes, you are going to love it just as much as I do!  The other stamps say… Princess and You Rule!  I think it is my favorite… for now.

The card was made for my brother Reyes.  It’s Spanish for King, so this stamp is perfect for his birthday.  He was born on January 6th, which is the Three Kings Day also known as Epiphany or the 12th day of Christmas.  To many it marks the arrival of the magi (three kings) who were bearing gifts for baby Jesus.  That is why I don’t take down my Christmas decorations until January 6h… LoL… well, that and because it’s my all time FAVORITE holiday.

I’m not worried about my brother seeing his card before his birthday, since he doesn’t visit my blog… LoL.  But his wife does and she’s already seen the card… =)

A Little Birdie Goes Tweet Tweet Tweet

My featured stamp set (For the Birds) wins my heart.  Why?  Because it is perfect for the beginner stamper.  It has seven different stamps to make your first creations with… from sending birthday wishes, tellin’ somebody you miss them, and even a Merry Christmas stamp!  This is a must have with your Starter Kit now!

I was lost in trying to use this very different paper pattern called International Bazaar.  I would never call it ugly, but I would say it gave me a little creative block (LoL).  I wanted to use my Adorning Accents Edgelits since buying them when they first came out and this was the perfect layout!

So I took the Daffodil Delight cardstock to help bring out the yellow in the Internation Bazzar Designer Series Paper and used the Adorning Accents Edgelits to frame the sides and the Beautiful Wings Embossilits for the butterflies.

Match your Designer Series Paper patters perfectly each time by using my handy dandy Coordinating Colors cheat sheet.  Feel free to print it and use it.  What better?  Sharing it with a friend.  Come on, share your secret and be a good friend.
