Quick Birthday Wishes!

Recently, I posted to my Facebook fans that I had stopped giving away free product because I didn’t feel there was a large enough interest in it.  One person, Ms. Maureen left me a message that was funny, so right then and there I decided to give her a My Paper Pumpkin kit.

She is a faithful subscriber to my blog and Facebook page and I wanted her to know how much I appreciate her.  Although I enjoy your comments, my blog is all about what I can do for you!

This card was made for a co-worker (at my deployed location) that was signed by everyone.  Inside it said, “Recent studies show that people who continue to have birthdays… live longer.”  Hilarious… why?  Because it’s so true.

Until the Next Post…

Keep an eye out for the Pals Blog Hop on June 11th!

Blue Waves Birthday

Today we celebrate not just a birthday, but a bon voyage to those that I have become friends with for the last month.  Every half a year there are new rotations… it’s a never ending cycle, unless you’re one of the lucky one’s and get to stay an entire year.

I’m being sarcastic… LoL.  Seriously, it’s bitter sweet in the deployed life of a service member.  We make friends with those that we met while deployed and we build strong bonds.  Our bonds are sometimes closer than with those we are stationed with back on the motherland.

However, we never say good-bye… we say, “see you on the other side my friend.”

If you’re wondering how I made the butterfly shadow……. keep reading.

Punch out two additional butterflies with the color of your choice.  Cut one in half length wise and the second one width wise.  Then just simply glue them together, so that each side shows some slight color.  Easy Peasy.

A Week of Birthdays

We’ve had three birthdays in one week at my deployed location.  With the new crew coming in, I’ve taken the liberty of becoming the card lady.  One of the Airmen in the clinic wrote on a card, “Happy Birthday, statistics continue to show that those who have birthday’s live longer.”  I just about started laughing because I have never seen those statistics, but know it is right on!  LoL.

Last weekend I was able to have a stamping session in our day room of our dorm.  I was like a kid in a candy store.  I will begin posting more recent cards with the new products from the 2013-14 Catalog.  Have you received yours?  If not click here to get your free copy today!

This card was put together prior to the start of my deployment.  Hope this card has inspired you to create something similar.  Please feel free to buy products used to make this card by clicking on images below.

Happy Birthday to My Best Friend!

Many of you who visited me during the Pals Blog Hop asked about what my stamping area looks like in my room where I am currently located.  You can see the picture on my Facebook page.  I’m still trying to get used to develop a normal schedule and I hope it kicks in soon.  I’ve got an important class to finish up and then I’ll have all my extra time to do nothing but Stampin’ Up!  I’ve also began receiving beautiful cards from my stamping’ Pretty Pals.  If you only knew the excitement I feel when the mail arrives and there is a handmade card or handwritten letter.

Although I keep in touch with family on a daily basis, I just thought I’d let you know that deployed military members really do LOVE LOVE LOVE hand written notes.  They are more personal and a written word on paper takes thought, love and care to put together.  We can feel the love that was put into it and as we tear the letter apart we can really feel the love come out of it and it makes us happier than an email.

So if you’re reading this and you have a loved one deployed send them a letter or make them a card, go ahead make their day! =)  Don’t worry about how it turns out.  It is a treasure in their hands and the words will bring them a little bit of “home” in a far away place.

Today is my best friends birthday.  I hope by now he has received it and really loves it.
Happy Birthday Michael!
