Engagement at Tiffany’s

OHH EMM GEE is what many of us in the family said when my sister-in-law become engaged.  The moment I found out I went right to work on this classy clean and simple card that I called Engagement at Tiffany's.

I used the new square framelits to cut out the box in the middle and also to make the black matting.  I was going to use the silver glitter paper at first, but the whisper white seemed to drown out the silver and decided on the gold instead.  I love it and I'm sure she will too as soon as she gets it in the mail.

The large rhinestone we carry is the most perfect stone for this engagement ring.  I'm not kidding, it's as big as a one karat real diamond.  It's looks absolutely stunning in person.  LoL.

You can see below what the inside looks like when the card is opened.  It's one classy card and I really surprised myself because in all honesty I'm not as creative as some of you think…LoL.

This card would've also looked great with just the engagement ring and not the other band, but I didn't think about it until it was done.  What other colors would you like to see in an engagement or wedding card?

Clean & Simple Grateful Heart

Grateful1I always read that we should be grateful for what we have instead of thinking of what we don't have.  Life is much more enjoyable and it creates a happiness like no other.  It's so true and this stamp captures the feeling of being grateful.

I may be 6K+ miles away from the USA, but know that this blog has allowed me to keep in touch with so many of you.  I am truly grateful for your kind emails, cards, care packages, and prayers.  You are the reason why I keep this blog going.

The card layout is brought to you by Clean & Simple Stamping #52 sketch challenge.  I fell in love with the sketch so much I made a small batch of these cards to send out to my loved one's while on this deployment.

Today started of hot, as the day went by it stayed hot, when I left work for dinner, it was still hot.  The 80/20 rule came to life and I have yet to grow tired of it.  It keeps me on my toes and challenges me to come up with better ways of maximizing my time and efforts to ensure that the 20% of what matters keeps going.

Did I lose you? LoL… I lost myself too.  The 80/20 rule is Pareto's Principle and can be applied to anything in life. Long story short, being aware of this rule will help you stay focused with the 20% of the stuff that matters most.

I originally made this card for another sketch challenge, but I was so busy doing a different card that I passed the deadline.  Anyhow, the card is for a distant relative in Mexico.  My mom shared with her the Mother's Day card I made her and she asked if I could make a card for her.  This is it. =)

Each time I see this card I smile… actually I almost chuckle.  Why?  Because I was trying to make a sunflower and instead it looks like a daisy.  I want to break out in song when I see it… You are my sunshine, my only sunshine… you make me happy when skies…. you know the rest… LoL.

ATCAS summer

I'm addicted to Clean and Simple, no pun intended… LoL.  I hope your Summer has been a joyful one and you have made fond memories you will remember forever.  Me, it's six months taken away from my life and the funny thing is next year I will have to think hard of what I did this Summer.

When we deploy we have gaps in our memories.  We remember years, days, and moments according to the year we were deployed.  We all go through it and it's something we get used to (sometimes).  I'm on my third deployment and I must tell the world that although I'm away from family & friends… I have a whole new set of friends.

I've made friends on this deployment that I will never forget and I have also made so many more friends with some of my blog subscribers.  You have sent me cards and care packages… I know no other way to express my gratitude except to post it here for the world to know that I APPRECIATE YOU!

…….and I appreciate that Stampin' Up! is a company that supports our military 110%.  Here's a sweet video that describes 100% how I feel about the friendships I have made since I became a demonstrator.  For those of you who know me personally, professionally, or on any other level know that Stampin' Up! is my life.  I AM LIVING PROOF!
