During deployments the work day is long, anywhere from 12-16 hours a day, six days a week, and on-call on the seventh day. No one complains and everyone comes together as a team. We are the best of the best! When you think about it, it seems like a long day, but since there is not much to do after work, like when we are home, many of us work out at the gym daily, go for a run, or hang out at the water hole aka Pete’s/community center.
We often run into our comrades continuing down range or making their way back home. Well, tonight I ran into several co-workers from Travis AFB and boy were they a sight for sore eyes. Their six month mission is complete and they are happy to be going home. I will feel that way in five months and one week, but hey, who’s counting… LoL.
All I can say is that I have the best job in the world and if you are on your way to or way from down range, be safe. Know that we at the Transit Center are here for you waiting for your return to get you back home. God Speed my friends. I am honored to serve beside you!
I dedicate this card to my friends back home and to my friends going down range. I “MISS YOU” already!
Until the next post…
