I was cleaning up my craft area of my teeny tiny room aka cell… (LoL) the other day and I quickly realized "oh no I have so much paper that retired while it was in shipment status." So, I decided to make some Halloween cards for my friends. This first one I put a little left over piece from the current Quatrefancy Collection.

Yes, I wanted to use up some of the washi tape I had because I never used it when I first bought it months ago and I thought, "hmmm, this would look good on a couple Halloween cards. It is the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape and it was perfection! =)
Since I knew I was going to be deployed over Halloween, I didn't buy any Halloween paper, stamps or paper. That is why I use what I already had on hand, except the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I've stressed so much how this little set has everything you'll ever need… especially for beginners or those who are on an extremely tight budget.

Yes, all three cards are pretty much the same sketch that I have so often all over the internet and I like the clean and simple look it gives my cards. Since Stampin' Up! no long carries the little bat paper punch, I looked around and other demos figured out how to make them, so I copied their idea.
Here's what you do after you punch out the Bitty Butterfly… you take the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and just snip off the bottom portion of the butterfly's wings. You can also use scissors. End result: a bat.

Yay Maggie….I saw Mary Fish’s blog site and what a wonderful, beautiful gift of nesting dolls you so kindly gave to her! They actually resemble Mary when you look at her blog site and see Mary and the Nesting Dolls side by side. They are both adorably cute! I’m so glad that your PALS group take care of you and you are not forgotten (out of sight, out of mind). I love to look at a lot of the PALS blog sites. Everyone is soooo stinkin’ creative, kind, sharing and I truly enjoy them all. What a fabulous group of crafters!!!
Love how you made the bats. My first Halloween project was the little bag with the handle and I made the larger bat that hangs up-side-down out of circle punches. I did try sponging the big, yellow circle for the moon; but, yours looks a whole lot better than mine. =) I love the washi tape look too! Ya’ know, thinking of Halloween, it has been well over a year now since I started following paper crafting blogs. Wow….where has all that time gone. Reading and responding to all the blogs I bet, huh? =)
Thanks for sharing Maggie. Hope you have a great weekend! Blessings!
Leave it to you to find a way to turn a BUTTERFLY into a bat! LOL! Love it Maggie, truly ~
And Washi tape…isn’t it the best?? It’s my new best friend. I’ve had some around for quite some time but it’s been in the drawer. Pulled it out and started using it last year and it’s one of those things you could write a book about, “101 Things to Create with Washi Tape.” The fact that you can place it and remove it a few times without residue makes it a wonderful addition to the accessory pile. I’ve also started sealing my envelopes that I send to family with beautiful patterns ~ FUN!!
Bat…LOVE it! 😉
