In the Air Force, top notch, exceptionally qualified enlisted Airmen are rewarded with promotion early on in their careers. Such young troops are the go-getters, society’s over-achievers (if you may), the one’s who want more out of life and know that hard work and dedication pay off. They go from an Airman First Class (E-3) to a Senior Airman (E-4) six months ahead of schedule, which helps with the increase in pay. Statistically, these exceptional men and women go on to bigger and better things like completeing their college degrees and becoming officers or reach the top 1% of the Air Force and become Chiefs (E-9).
Well, I know such a young man. His name is Cesar. He was transferred into my work center a little over 2 months ago. He was definitely a breath of fresh air to the five group practice managers (including myself) who needed help with managing our medical center’s business plan.
Here’s to you Cesar for flying OFF THE CHARTS! I am very proud of you! In my 23 years in the Air Force, you are the BEST airman I’ve ever worked with. You are bound for greater things. I’ll make you another card with a lighter blue when you receive your commission and will pass along my first set of butter bars.
