Hardcore card makers take any moment to make a card serious. We begin a month or two before the date!  Well, at least we try.  Today’s card is for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge this month and I love that less is truly more!

It would be a great honor to be able to see your talent on the challenge.

The Details:

  • No Stamping.  It’s what I love about out one word thinlit sentiments!  You can see all the thinlits here.
  • The Power of Dimensionals.  Did you know our Stampin’ Dimensionals could be cut with scissors?  That’s exactly what I did to pop up the “love”.  I used ONE dimensional and can you say “WHOA!”  You can see in the photo below the off the card pop it gives the card.  Love it!

  • Just for kicks. Silver metallic thread was added to the back of the boots to just for fun.

Meet the Adorable Sweet Ivy

Ivy1

Isn’t this card just straight up gorgeous!? If I told you a friend gave it to me who is a beginner card-maker? She got hooked on making cards after she attended a work shop and she hasn’t stopped creating ever since. I named this precious cutie Ivy. Why because It’s Nicole’s last name and it fits he sweet face.

Ivy2

The image is a digi-image she found and simply used our Many Marvelous Markers to color her in. It’s as if Nicole went from beginner to a professional with just the markers. Amazing detail with her  coloring. Nicole is living proof that YOU can do it too!

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations.

  • Just start somewhere. Many people say, “I’ll start stamping/coloring after I practice some more.” Yet they never start and regret it later.  If we always wait to be perfect guess what…we are never going to get it off the ground. The Many Marvelous Markers are a perfect start to great coloring fun. That’s what Nicole did and just look at what she accomplished and I got to keep it as a gift for getting her started.
  • For beginners Google “free dig stamps” and print your favorite choice on Whisper White card stock then just practice, practice, practice! You’ll improve your coloring skills and you won’t want to stop.

A SWEET DEAL.  There’s a really awesome raffle going on and there are only 20 numbers remaining. There’ll be SIX winners who will win a combined total of over $200 in prizes. But that’s not all, EVERYONE will be a winner! Those numbers that are not chosen as prize winners will get $5 off an order of $25 or more during the month of May. Bought two tickets? Get $10 off a $50 order and so on. Make sense? Get your number today and know that the odds are the greatest for everyone.

Thank you my friends for stopping by today. It would be so awesome to show y friend Nicole some love. Won’t you please leave her a comment on her card? It’s simply adorable. Have yourself a beautiful day.

Never Let Go Heart…Never Let Go!

Valentine

As card-makers we’re influenced by other card enthusiasts, shapes we see around us, and of course Pinterest. Then we sit at our craft tables to put something together. The dangling hearts remind me of how we often dangle through life, yet there is always someone hanging on to us.

Valentine

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations

  • Left Overs: The hearts are actually left overs from a different project. I sound like a broken record when I say, “don’t throw away left over card stock.” Why? Because it can be used on another project.
  • How to Make Them Hang: I simply used paper snips to cut and place smaller hearts through bigger one’s. Glue dots came in super handy.
  • Perfect Pop Each Time: Stampin’ Dimensionals give the perfect raise to give the perfect pop to any card.

Sale-a-bration: Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale that it only happens once a year. Receive FREE product for every $50 you spend from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. See it here.

Have a fabulous day and thank you so much for stopping by.

Product Needed to Make This Card:

Stampin’ Up! Three Colors w/One Ink Pad

Valentine

I’m running late, I need to make a card in a jiffy, I don’t want to make it complicated…what do I do? Stamp, punch, adhere. Whew, that was easy. Hold up, wait a minute! I got ink where it doesn’t belong! Darn it, I’m already late. What now?

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations:

  • One Ink Wonder: Use one ink to stamp three different shades. How? Ensure stamp has even ink coverage before stamping it and do not re-ink. Just stamp it two more times and with each stamp the color will completely change to a lighter color. I used melon mambo and it’s amazing the three shades of beautiful popping color.
  • Oopsie Smearked Ink: Make a mistake? Well, you know there are no mistakes in stamping right!? Simply place an embellishment over it. I put the tiny hearts left overs I had from a previous card and if I said it once, I’ll say it again “never eva eva throw away left over paper that bigger than a nickel.” As you can see, you can still use it!

Don’t have time to stop and make this card? You can buy it here. Envelope included in sealed package to prevent dirt or dirty fingers from touching it for $3.49. Cards are made to order just for you (hearts included).

Membership Always Offered: Want to learn to make your own cards? Our starter kits are just what you need and when you sign up to receive your start kit you’ll also receive free product.  You can choose between two Sale-a-Bration items or one of the kits in the Occasions Catalog when you purchase the Starter Kit ($125 of your choice of product for just $99) during Sale-a-Bration. What’s the best part about this? You’ll be able to purchase your own product at a discount! It doesn’t get any better than that! Please email me at maggie@maggiemadecards.com if you’d like to discuss this opportunity with me – I’d LOVE to share with you how easy it really is. To buy the Starter Kit, please CLICK HERE

Be My Box-intine w/Stampin’ Up!

Valentine

It’s amazing how quickly time flies. First I waited anxiously for Leadership and it flew by in the wink of an eye. The same thing will happen for Valentine’s and since it’s the most celebrated non-official holiday in the U.S. I hope you’re prepared for it.

Valentine

Need a card to go with your sweet treat or giving only a card? All you need is a pack of  Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack, adhesive, a circle punch, small heart punch is optional, and ink. Cut, punch and adhere. How easy is that? But you must order today to receive it in time and quickly make them. They literally take just 5 minutes for each card.

YouMe2 Valentine

Don’t want to give a card? No problem…give them tiny treat box. Like the card, slap on some designer series paper and a heart. You don’t have to slap it on like me (LOL). The bow is optional, but makes it that much cuter don’t you think.

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting suggestions.

  • Small sweet gifts don’t need to be elaborate or complicated to make. The small box for example, comes pre-made. Stamp, punch, and adhere! That’s all you need sweetheart.

Valentine's Love

The Occasions/Sale-a-bration Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack is by far, hands down the number one DSP to use for ALL your Valentine’s Day project needs! It’s the only one I’ve used and I’ve already ordered two more packs.

I measured four times and cut once (in small segments) to create the spaced out look. For the letters I used my ever “other” so favorite Little Letters Thinlits Dies. This is one of those sets that I know I’ll keep forever and ever…even after retirement (not my retirement, but the letters. LOL)

The next stop is Becky Gifford at The Social Stamper on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you next month.

Stampin’ Up! Dual Valentine Cards

Valentine

To kick off Sale-A-Bration with the Occasions catalog I held a workshop and we had a fabulous time creating this sweet Valentine card. My number one paper I have been using for making Valentine themed cards is the Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack. It is simply amazing and both sides match every single paper. I just love it!

Valentine

The second card was changed slightly with the use of the Sweet Heart Punch instead of a diagonal cut where the sentiment was stamped. If you don’t order the paper while it’s hot, I assure you that you’ll be kicking yourself in the but if you don’t order it now.

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting suggestions.

  • To make the sentiment stand out a little I stamped the sentiment on a Whisper White diagonal cut card stock on the first card. I wanted the second card slightly different so I changed the shape with the Sweetheart Punch heart. I think I like the heart shape better. Which one do you like better?

My Very First Pals Paper Arts #235 Post!

Twitterpated

This is the first post that has ever made me nervous. Not shaking in my pants nervous, but my stomach in knots nervous. At the same time I’m jumping up and down with so much excitement because this is my very first post as a Pals Paper Arts design team member.

Up until Tuesday it still felt like Christmas to me… maybe because the colors are a very rich representation of winter. I find color challenges the most challenging to me because I think I do much better with sketch challenges. But guess what? I now get to practice, practice, practice. HA! Go on and check out the designer team sketches.

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations:

I have a very dear friend whom I’ll call Brian King to protect his identity (LOL) and he is truly the King of layering.  I love his sweet simple style and while I put my card together I thought if him the entire time.

What’s the magic to perfect layering?

  • Color coordination. You can choose colors that are a complete contrast to each other or colors that have very suttle color changes, like this challenge.
  • Don’t worry if you don’t have an eye for color… I’m a color kluts and can’t match two colors to save my life. But……
  • Don’t worry about it. That’s what color challenges are for right?! Then again, you can always use our Color Coach.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: For the last few months or so there seems to be so much going on with Stampin’ Up! and I’ll make it easy for you to read ahead. Simply click on the links below to read each one.

  • Blog Candy Give-a-way: Today is pretty much your last day to enter the blog candy give-a-way drawing from Sat., Jan. 3rd, which just happened to be my cousin Veva’s birthday.
  • A Mini Paper Share w/FREE washi sheets: Great offer to try our new paper before investing in the entire pack and perfect for card-makers who don’t use two 12×12″ sheets (like me). That’s how I’m able to provide you such a GREAT price!
  • Earn FREE Sale-A-Bration Product: With the purchase a 3-month Pre-Paid My Paper Pumpkin kit receive FREE product instantly!
