Pumpkin Anyone?

This month’s My Paper Pumpkin was amazing! I’ve taught two free card classes with them and they are a hit. At first I thought that the kits would be great for beginners who want to experiment with the kit, but I quickly realized that the kits are great for the advanced card maker also. I love them because I can put them together with ease and I send them to my customers as well as give them to family & friends. I can give so many of them away because I order three kits a month. That’s how crazy I am about them.

I couldn’t believe that this kit also came with tiny cards that can also be used with gift cards too. They are so darn cute! Click here to learn more about My Paper Pumpkin.

Change Up the Pumpkin

The picture below includes my own stamp set, ink, and sequence.  It is not included with the kit.  The kit has the cards, boxes, and different stamp set as seen in the video below.

My Paper Pumpkin

The month’s paper pumpkin is one of my personal favorites!  Stampin’ Up! has truly stepped it up and made the monthly kit F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.    I love being a little different so I changed it up just a tiny bit and used a different stamp set on the tag.  The card I kept it the same as the kit card.

These kits are great for all levels of crafters.  Beginners love them because everything you need is in the box (ink, paper, stamp set, adhesive, and all items are pre-cut), advanced crafters love it for the same reason as the beginner, but they get to give it their own personal touch.  It also comes straight to your door, each month.  You can cancel at any time and there are no obligations.

This is July’s fabulous kit and I’ve already had a sneak peak for August and I can’t wait to get it.

Impromptu My Paper Pumpkin

As you know, I’m in Los Angeles visiting family and so is one-quarter of my stamp room… LOL.  Thank goodness I brought some extra My Paper Pumpkin kits too!

My two beautiful nieces wanted to know what the hype was all about… and they decided to rename the kit… My Way with Paper Pumpkin.

They do not have blogs, so please show them love by leaving a comment about their unique kit cards made their way.

My Paper Pumpkin My Way

Jessica decided she didn’t want to use the photopolymer set that came with the kit, but instead substituted it with the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set.  This is the best thing I absolutely love about My Paper Pumpkin… you can use any stamp set may already have.  Everything goes well together!

My Paper Pumpkin My Way

This is Veronica and this is her first time ever making a handmade card.  I think she’s hooked.  She went a little crazy on the arrows, but this is her own version of the card and she even “borrowed” an extra gold glitter sticker from her cousin. LOL.

The coolest thing the impromptu card class with My Paper Pumpkin tonight is that my nieces will now be able to pre-pay their subscriptions.  How exciting is that!  These pre-paid kits also make the PERFECT gift!

Contact me today about getting your pre-paid kit and do what my two nieces did and make them your own!

The whole purpose of this blog is to share my simple handmade cards & projects with as many people as possible and I need your help, will please share it?

Thank You My Paper Pumpkin

TY MPP

There are two simple words that show you are grateful for what was done or given to you.  I often like to say, “There are not enough thank you’s in the world to show you my gratitude.”

So, today I say THANK YOU to you… my friend!  Thank you for signing up to follow My Paper Journey.  I’ve been at this for two years and I have learned so much from you and the blog.  If you haven’t signed up you can click right here and sign up now.

TY MPP

The card is an upscaled version of March’s My Paper Pumpkin and if you haven’t signed up to get the monthly kit delivered straight to your door step all I can say is your missing out on some fantastic kits.  If you missed the orignal kit card, you can find the original right here.

Lesson Learned:  You can take an original design and change it up a bit to make it your own.  With this card I used the same elements that came with the kit… the wooden ‘thank you’ die cut and the arrow stamp.

To make it my own I stamped the die cut in Silver Metallic ink with sponge daubers.  Then I embossed the arrow stamp with Silver embossing powder to give it texture.

Finally, to mimic the original card I used the flower punch that comes with the Punch Pack to give it a sparkle finish.

Recycle Mom Day1

Hello there, if you are here looking for the Pals Blog Hop: Earth Day is Everyday, don’t worry you’ll find it on yesterday’s post… LoL.  These are more cards using recycled left over paper from other cards I’ve made.  I do not have the innate ability to color match, but after viewing all thepretty left over paper, I didn’t think it mattered.  The colors remind me of Spring and it has sprung… LoL.

I made my own mom a special Mother’s Day card that I will preview some time this week…. and I can’t wait to show it to you because like these cards…. I also used my stash of paper.  Do you keep your scarps of paper in a box all thrown together or neatly separated and labeled?  how do you think I keep mine?  Hmmm… maybe I’ll show you pictures next time too… LoL

Happy Mother's Day2

If you’re wondering about the crinkled leaves… I used a retired Stampin’ Up! product, a Crimper.  I folded the leaves in half length wise and pulled it through.  They give the leaves a beautiful embossed real leaf look… don’t you agree?

DON’T FORGET!

Hurry, time is running out to sign up for Paper Pumpkin this month!  Sign up by midnight tomorrow (April 10) so you won’t miss out on any more kits.

Stampin’ Up! a Big Wheel Masculine Birthday

Wheel1

My dear friends.  I have been out of touch this last week because I was out in Mississippi participating in an inspection with our DoD Inspector Generals.  Although it is a task that many people hate, I embrace things like this.  Not everyone will ever get the same opportunities to train and be inspected and I must say that embracing the “suck” takes on a whole new meaning.

The camaraderie’s built with people I’ve never worked with and the flow of communication is so important is vital to ALL of us.  I will say that I am glad to be home today and the sleep deprivation was worth the new friendships made.  I will know at the end of the week how well our group did and you can read about it on my Facebook page this Friday.

Wheel3

I made the cards before I left a week ago in hopes that I would sneak in and post them for you to enjoy, but unfortunately, Internet was limited and after a 14 hour work day, my mind just couldn’t process the words to put on the post.

Needless to go on and on, I made this card for my brother Gilbert’s birthday.  He got it a few days late, but wanted to show him that I was thinking of him.  Gilbert was the clown of the family always making faces when taking family photo’s… LoL.  If we had this old style bike while growing up, he certainly would have been the one riding it.

I love your comments:  Here’s a question for you… What kind of card or cards will you make today?  If you’re a Paper Pumpkin Player, I will be announcing a winner for March’s Introductory My Paper Pumpkin on February 28th.

A Twitterpated Sale-A-Bration

How much more simple can this cute little simple layout get?  I cut out this very pretty and delicate Paper Doily Sizzlit (125592) when the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (DSP) was first announced and shown to us.  I just put it in my pile of “use it later” scraps and tonight I figured I should start using my scraps to make quick & easy cards.

The Old Olive button came from the Brights Designer Button (119747) and was added just to add a little simple dimension and depth to the lace.  I fell a few weeks behind on my birthday cards and decided I would show you how to quickly throw a simple card together that had little bits of bright colors.

I added a peak of the Pretty Petites Stamp Set (C129642/W129639) that you could earn for FREE with any $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  If you buy $100 worth then you can get the complete bundle, which includes the Petite Curly Label Punch (129405).  It comes with a total of EIGHT mini stamps, which if you think about it, translates to an additional EIGHT different cards.

A close up of the Paper Doily shows off it’s intricate cuts and fascinating twirls.

Blessings to you and thank you for stopping by.  Be on the lookout for more Blog Candy this month.  I’m fixin’ to clean out my stash of Stampin’ Up! paper.
