I Don’t Have Friends

Friendship

Today marks the last challenge for the long-standing Pals Paper Arts card challenges and I’ve had the honor to have been a team member for the last year and a half.  It’s been fun, it’s been real, and each and every challenge was real fun!  I’m going to miss it, but at the same time there are plans in the works to begin the entry into other card challenges.

Pals Paper Arts 324

This last sketch is one created by the fabulously talented Ginger Toivonen.  I’d love for the last challenge to go out with a bang by getting you to enter a card for the awesome sketch.

Pals Paper Arts: Sketch by Susan Itell

Pals Paper Arts

That’s right folks it’s another lovely Thursday and you know what that means!  It’s card challenge day and I’ve created something simple you can use any designer series paper to make it.

Pals Paper Arts

This week our fabulous Susan Item came up with a design that can put together by a beginner card maker as well as an advanced crafter.  Take a look at what the team has come up with and let it inspire you at the Pals Paper Arts card challenge.

Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Simple Straight Cuts. Doesn’t get any easier than this folks.  I cut the designer series paper in five thin strips and simply spaced them a tiny bit to give them a spread out look.  Nothing hard at all!  Just make sure to keep the design in same order to keep the design together.

Peace, Love & Lots of Hugs,
Maggie

Pals Paper Arts #320: Sketch by Dawn Tidd

Thank You Pals Paper Arts

Happy Thursday and welcome to another edition of Pals Paper Arts, a sketch by Dawn Tidd.  She gave us a sketch that truly challenged my imagination and I love it!  It’s one of the main reasons I have such a love for card-making.  There’s no right or wrong way of putting it together and it’s a direct reflection of our heart.

Pals Paper Arts

It’s been a little over a year since joining the Pals Paper Arts and I have loved every minute of it.  Being a member of the team makes me feel like I’m amongst the stars.  I wish for you to join us this week and shoot for the stars at Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Thank You Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Designer Series Paper as the Star. Often Stampin’ Up! has some of the most beautiful paper so that it doesn’t need to be stamped on to show off it’s gorgeous color and design.  This is one outhouse designer series papers that needs to thrills.  To give it a hit of pow I layered it with cardstock to show the division the actual sketch.

  • One Stamp Card. We give a greetings cards to wish someone a Happy Birthday, to say Thank You, or just to say Hi.  My card is obviously to say thank you.  The sentiment came from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set that has been around longer than I’ve been a demonstrator.  It’s one of  those sets that has a greeting for every occasion…I kid you not!

Teeny Tiny Wishes 127802

  • Butterflies in Flight. To finish off the design I added two to add a little pop to the card front.  Every butterfly also deserves some bling and that is why my butterflies will always be decorated with basic rhinestones.

Maggie

Pals Paper Arts: Ginger Bread Kiddo

Pals Paper Arts

Welcome to this weeks Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge!  This is hands-down one of my favorite punches and the variety of stamps are amazingly too cute NOT to own!  I assure you this stamp set is going to be one of those craze gotta have sets and I highly encourage you to get it pronto before they run out!  The Designer Series Paper is also another favorite.  However, I plan on stocking up and making sure I have enough to make at least 100 Christmas cards.

I wanted to make the Ginger Bread Kiddo look like he was swinging from house to house and used Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine to allow it to repel across the card.

The best way to end the week tomorrow is by entering your card into the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.

Pals Paper Arts: Sketch Challenge by Linda Callahan

Pals Paper ArtsThere are times in our lives when everything goes off kilter.  This card may have been a premonition and once I summarize you may agree.  When I completed Linda’s spectacular sketch I had to make about five cards because I was preparing to undertake a three and a half week vacation across the US in my hubby’s Mini Cooper (oh fun)!

Two weeks into our vacation, I received that dreaded 5 AM call…dad’s in the hospital.  This card is now how I feel….gloomy. It just goes to show that often what we see takes a different twist on how we feel.  I really love the new Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack and when I made the card it looked like the sky blended with the ocean with a bright sun behind it…at least that’s the look I wanted to achieve.
Pals Paper Arts

It would be such an honor if you entered the challenge this week and I’d love to see your card over at Pals Paper Arts.

Pals Paper Arts: Beer Party

Pals Paper Arts

Well what do you know, I’m the guest creator today for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and I thought I’d share my favorite (so far) Mixed Drinks stamp set paired with the Festive Birthday designer series paper.  What does this spunky DSP have to do with beer?  Well, if you’re Mexican you know that at every children’s party we (the adults) drink beer. LOL…true story, you just can’t make this stuff up.

Pals Paper Arts

It’d be an honor to see your sketches this week for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Pals Paper Arts

The Details:

  • Corona or Budlight?  You can make the beer any type you want.  Mine was stamped with So Saffron because I wanted it to be light-colored like a Corona.  It’s the reason I also stamped the lemon slice.  Didn’t you know that Corona is even more refreshing with a slice of lemon?  For added flavor squeeze the lemon into the beer and you’ll get a nice refreshing surprise. LOL
  • A Whole New Meaning.  Step aside, “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” In my home it’s about every hour being a happy one!  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

JULY ON-LINE ORDERS.  Use Host Code CMMR9D62 and receive a gift from me  when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me.

I WELCOME HOBBY STAMPERS TO THE PALS COMMUNITY!  If your motivation is simply to get the kit and enjoy at least 3 months of demonstrator discounts (20% or more), benefits and resources just for YOU, it’s OK!!  There’s no risk, no obligation to purchase anything further and no penalty to drop!  Why not give Stampin’ Up! and my Circle of Pals a test drive and start building your $99 Starter Kit here.

Fishing with Bear

IMG_0394

In my family, we have a hunter and a fisherman and I’m happy about the stamp sets available with deer, elk, and fish (LOL).   What are your favorite cards to make?  Have you ever entered them into a card challenge?

PPA

This week’s card challenge is a sketch put together by none other than the fabulous Lisa Ann Bernard.  Sketch challenges are a perfect way to leave your comfort zone and do something crazy! Tell me, what’s stopping you?

Bear Hugs

  • Water waves. I used Pool Party and Island Indigo cardstock to give the flowing water a little bit of depth. It looks so much better in person though.
  • Floating fish. Well actually, they’re swimming upstream.  I titled them slightly up and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals to deceive the eyes a little.

Pals Paper Arts Many Thanks

Thanks

I love Pals Paper Arts Thursday!  Have you seen the new Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper!?  Every single sheet is beyond gorgeous and I can’t wait for you to see all of them.

Pals Paper Arts

Today’s Pals Paper Arts layout is brought to you by the wonderfully talented Nicole Watt and I’d love to see what you enter.

Maggie Made Tips:

  • Layers: When using a designer series paper with a white background I like to layer it with little pop of color.  I think the Melon Mambo card-stock creates the perfect pop don’t you think?
  • Hearts Background:  I didn’t want the sentiment to have too much of a white background, so I stamped little hearts with the heart inside the Another Thank You Photopolymer stamp set in Blushing Bride ink.
  • Sequin Embellishments:  When I use sequin’s on a card I always use three small pieces.  Why three?  Simply because it’s my favorite number.  Everything happens to me in threes…LOL.  You can still get some of the Metallics Sequin too!  It lasts forever…literally!

Here is where I say THANK YOU for stopping by.  I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d still be posting and making cards for my blog after almost five years.

Sandy Conner Pals Paper Arts Exclusive

Pals Paper Arts

Every year I say the same thing about new catalog items…I’M IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING!  These stinkin’ cute lady bugs are from the Love You Lots stamp set and I used the new In-Color Emerald Envy ink to give them a little pop.  The sentiment is from the And Many More stamp set also stamped with new In-Color Sweet Sugarplum. To add a little sparkle I used two different size Basic Rhinestones on the antennas.  Just as a teaser, the paper is a little sneak peak from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. I’m willing to bet you are going to love it as much as I do.

I’m very excited about today’s Pals Paper Arts #300 sketch challenge because it was created by our team’s superbly talented Sandra Conner. Come check out all the inspiration by my teammates inspiration talent.

A Heart of Gold with Pals Paper Arts

A Heart of Gold

Today’s card was made for a friend who lost his father last week and each item has a special meaning.  The tree is from Thoughts & Prayers and it represents life.  The hearts were colored in with a Real Red Stampin’ Marker with one heart filled in with Gold Glitz Dazzling Details, which is his dad’s heart because he had a heart of gold.  The embossed stars in the background mean that he is now among the stars watching over his loved one.

PPA 298

This week’s sketch is brought to you by our very own Ginger Toivonen and her sketch is perfect for beginners as well as advanced card makers.

Heart of Gold

Maggie Made Tips:

  • Customize Your DSP. I absolutely love that we can color in the hearts from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper or leave it as is.  As I made the card for my friend I was reminded of the saying, “a heart of gold” and that’s when I decided to color in the hearts with real read and fill one in with gold.
