The Power of Two… At Last!

Love Friendship Wedding The inspiration for my card came from Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge #354.  I made the card for a very special couple who dated for quite a while before getting married. The picture does the gold paper no justice… it’s absolutely stunning in person. The gold embossing takes it up a notch too.  All the gold makes it look so expensive… LOL. mojo354 I think the card pretty much represented the sketch fairly well.

Creative Feedback:  Participation in card sketches challenges every card maker from the beginner  all the way to the advanced person.  This is the reason why I love participating in them.  I highly recommend you try them.

50 is Big News!

The inspiration for my card came from one of my Pals, Brian King after he made a baby card using this stamp set and paper.  The stamp set actually says, “your little baby is BIG NEWS.”

However, my card is for a friend who will be turning the big five-o.  I removed the “your little baby” portion by masking it with clear tape before embossing it with silver embossing powder.  The new Perfect Print Numbers were the perfect size too!

Oh the two little banners on upper left hand side where just left overs from a previous project a long time ago.  I don’t ever throw any paper away.  As you see for yourself… it always comes in handy.

July Pals Blog Hop: New Hues Review

Welcome to the July Pals Blog Hop. This month we are featuring a New Hues Review. Let the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2014-16 inspire you – Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, and Tangelo Twist.  We hope you find great inspiration from our creations.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Kerry Willard Bray at Peonies and Paper Chains, Stop #11 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

When my eyes first scoured through the 2014-2015 catalog I pretty much fell in love with everything, but I must admit the 2014-2016 In-Colors took a few days to grow in love with.  My all time favorite colors are the Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  That’s probably why I chose the Moonlight Designer Paper Stack to use with my project.

Box & Candle

I made a sweet little box big enough to fit a candle, which I stamped as a gift.  I used the Today & Everyday stamp set to stamp tissue paper and I colored in the paper lamps with the lightest of three Blendabilities alcohol based markers (Light: Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, and Melon Mambo).

I placed a Fun Flower on the lid with the same sentiment from the candle, “You Light Up My Life”… how sweet is that!? It fit perfectly inside the Window Word punch too.

The next stop is Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven’s Retreat, Stop #13 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and  I hope to see you next month.

Nothin’ But Hugs

My Pals never cease to amaze me!  Especially when the cards they send have been posted on their blogs! I know how special one feels when a card arrives in the mail that was made for a blog. That’s why I also LOVE to send them.

Thinking of You

This cute little down under Koala Bear is so darn cute and it was perfect for me because as a child my favorite zoo animal was the Koala Bear.

Get Well

Many of you know who Mary Fish is.  She is the rock star of Stampin’ Up! and my upline.  She definitely made me feel special when I got this card in the mail.  She is simply amazing and I am so happy to call her my friend.

More Hugs

You can NOT deny that this is just the cutest card ever! I couldn’t help but feel so loved by my Pals when I opened this card.

My sweet Circle of Pals Maria R. one of my down-line sent this sweet thing wishing me well wishes. Maria is a hobby demonstrator who joined Stampin’ Up! just for the discount.  Anyone can join for any reason for as long as they want, no questions asked and you can learn more about it here.

Just Because

This second card was sent by one of my favorite Pretty Pals, Frances.  I say one of my favorite Pals because honestly I’ve lost count of how many I really have.  There are over 300+ plus of us and after a while it’s hard to keep track… LOL.

What I can tell you is that the friendships I have made are out of this world. Pals live all over the United States and we communicate virtually through email, a private Facebook page, and webinars.

Anyone can become a Pal and you can find out pretty much anything about us right here.

Sunshine Birthday

Sunshine Birthday

I still can’t get over the beauty of the Blended Bloom regardless of the color Blendabilities you choose. Today, six colors of the Blendabilities are now available to the public AND you can buy them  below.

When I initially saw this paper print I didn’t think I was going to like it. But as with anything Stampin’ Up! it grew on me and as I created this birthday card I knew it would go well with the Blended Bloom… what do you think? Leave a comment below and tell me what you think about it.

Getting your package was amazing, I don’t think you could have come up with anything better. I loved how each set was packaged separately, and it blew my mind that you included stickers with the names and the coordinating colors. The card you included was lovely. It felt beyond opening a present, it was like opening a party. – Thanks for the fun, Brenda

You Are My Sunshine

It’s been a week since I posted a card, but for good reason… I had abdominal surgery.  My entire body is finally 100% awake… for those of you have had ANY type of surgery, you know what I’m talking about.

Not only are you put to sleep, but every cell in your body (to include your internal organs) also go to sleep.  Abdominal surgery, however, is a little different.  As everything in your body begins to awaken, pain is one of them.  LOL

I thought I’d be able to post while laying in the bed, but nope… usually I just drifted off to sleep.  So, I’ll hurry and tell you about this card before I get tired again and take a nap.  This post alone has taken me several days to put together…LOL.

My card today was made with the  Ray of Sunshine stamp set and I think it’s just so cute.  As I sat to prepare this card for this post I could hear the Beatles in the background singing…Here Comes the Sun…and I say it’s alright.

How did I make the sun rays?  I stamped the rays and then snipped each one individually and adhered them straight on the DSP, but adhered the sun with Stampin’ Dimensionals for an a raised look.

To clear any confusion, I made this card and a few others way before my surgery.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to sit in a chair for quit a while.  See you back soon.

Before & After With A Twist

I had a workshop recently and my goal is to ALWAYS teach the art of simple card-making.  I enjoy creating simple handmade cards that anyone can put together… even you!

It’s a great card for beginners and a great start as you learn to add embellishments to make it a little bit of you.  We all need to start somewhere right?  So, once I had a little bit of time, I added a little bit more of me.

I added gold sequence and it almost made me squeal…LOL.  No wait, I also used the other side of the DSP and instead of the circle punch I used the scallop.  I love how tiny simple little changes that don’t require much make such a huge impact one simple layout.

Congratulations Son!

I haven’t posted all week, but this is the reason why.  My son has reached the milestone we all look forward to one day. =)  He is now a an official 2014 high school graduate with the world at his finger tips.  I made him a special card, but I’m still running around celebrating.  Have a wonderful weekend and I will have his graduation card posted for you tomorrow.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  You are my greatest supporters and I love what I do, but more important is the love I have for sharing it.  Have a wonderful weekend and may you be abundantly blessed.

Divas Marathon & Project Life with a Paper Sample

Over the weekend I speed walked in the Divas Half Marathon & 5K Run in the San Franciso Bay Area.  Last year I ran the Air Force “Deployed” Maraton and I had the time of my life.  I had never experienced the runner’s high everyone talks about…until then and I loved it!

My BFF had never experienced one either and she made it a goal last year to just do one.  She wrote me while I was deployed and told me I needed to do this with her, so I did.  We fast walked it yesterday along with four other friends and we had such a blast.

My goal now is to run the half next year and I’m going to do it!  So, watch out now because I’m about to start training and burn holes on my running shoes.

Project Life: I was so excited to use my Project Life product since buying it back in early May and this was the perfect project.  In the past I was a hardcore traditional scrapbooker and it took me days if not months to complete just a couple pages.  This system definitely makes it easier and faster to complete a scrapbook page.

I finished this project in one hour and I’m in love with Project Life!  My son wanted to go watch a movie, so I stopped and didn’t finish writing in the dates, but other than that it is ready to go into my Project Life binder.

Personal Tid Bits: If you find yourself short of the accessory pack paper just use your designer series paper to fit into the pockets of the plastic sleeve.  I used a few sheets fromthe Moon Light Designer Series Paper Stacks and it was perfect!

My First Paper Share: Get 60 sheets of our entire Designer Series Paper Collection for only $15.95 with free shipping!  Paper will measure 6×6 inches.  Perfect to try before you buy an entire pack.  Click here to view each paper design.

Leave Me A Comment: All you have to do is tell me which picture you laughed at most… LOL or if you plan on using Project Life to capture your memories.

Thank you so much for stopping by on your busy Monday.  Now go take a look at our brand new yearly catalog here.  You’ll be able to place an order starting at noon (CST) today.
