Love You with Pals Paper Arts

Love You

Growing up my mom used to say to me, “El corazon no manda.”  Meaning, the heart doesn’t tell us what to do.  I never knew what she meant by it until I fell in love.  I also used to hear people say, “Love is blind.”  I never knew what that meant either. LOL…until you guessed it, until I fell in love.  This card is dedicated to my mom who taught us that Love is universal and our hearts is what we love with.  Love you mom.

PPA 259-2

I’ve been truly challenged to the limit with card challenges and I must let you know that I’m officially obsessed with card challenges.  I would love for you to be crazy about it too…LOL.  You don’t have a blog?  You don’t need to.  you can use Pinterest and a few weeks ago I made a video that shows you how to post a challenge though Pinterest.  Check it out here.

  • White Space.  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.  Especially if your goal is to showcase one thing.  My showcase is simply the word LOVE.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Of all days in the month, today is my monthly two posts  in one day.

You’ve Got This!

Did you see my post last Thursday?  I made this exact card in a completely different color with embossing and I wrote about how it was beautifully ugly…LOL.  It was so ugly that I loved it!  If you missed it and are curious as to what it looked like click here.

Blog Candy:  Remember there is blog candy to be given and you can enter to win it by taking a second look at the last week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper post here.

  • Darker Shade Frame.  My goal was to bring the eyes back to the center of the card to highlight the flower and not necessarily the stamped background.  To accomplish that, I used a thin matting of Melon Mambo between Whisper White to give it a framed outline.  I think it worked.

Beautiful Lotus Blossom

The Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set is simply stunning! It’s a three-step stamp process and you only have to use ONE color! However, I used two colors on this beauty and another one below.

UPDATE: I’ve received many requests on the colors I used for the Lotus Blossom above. This is how I did it.

Step 1: Stamp #1 with Blackberry Bliss and do not stamp it off to the side. It’s what will give it the rich dark color.
Step 2: Stamp #2 with Blackberry Bliss, stamp it on a scrap twice with mild pressure both times. It’ll change the color completely.
Step 3: Stamp #3 with Rich Razzleberry, stamp it with firm pressure once.

If you don’t get it right the first time adjust the pressure.

This is a FREE set during Sale-a-bration (starts Jan. 6th) and oh boy it’s so stunning. I’ll be showing it off on my Jan. 6th workshop too! I’m a blossom card-making fool…I just can’t stop stamping it. HA!

  • Making quick cards when short on time (sounds familiar right) is easy with layering. Use a color that matches the ink and boom…there you have it – ALL DONE!

I wish you all had a very wonderful Christmas and you spent time with family and friends. We had our wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with King Crab Legs, Pot Roast, and all the trimmings. These last two weeks of the year are my favorite because it feels like two whole weeks of celebrating. Even if I have to go to work for a few days. LoL.

Coffee News… Will You Spot It?

Coffee News

I spent the morning with my cup of coffee and making a few more Mother’s Day cards.  Normally, I only drink coffee Monday thru Friday, but today is a special day.  Why?  Because I decided to advertise in the Coffee News® and offer FREE classes!!!

I met a wonderful lady, Linda (if it wasn’t obvious) who owns this little publication in Solano County.  It’s my first time taking out an ad like this and I wanted to try it just once.  So, here’s to you Linda and a successful future stamping while drinking coffee.

Now, about the card… it’s 90% digital… can you tell?  Since I also have the stamp set, I stamped the cup on some left over scrap designer series paper and snipped that piece out and simply glued it to the card.  Get your FREE 30-day trial of My Digital Studio below and print away all the cards you can make in 30 days using your own printer.

Thank You for Caring2 This card is a result of a friend asking if he could place an order of ‘Thank You’ cards to send to those caring people who attended his dad’s funeral a few weeks ago.  Each time friends ask for cards they must give me FULL creative rights.  All I ask are for choice of color(s).

Jeff asked for a blue/green color and in my mind when these two colors together result in Bermuda Bay.  I wrapped up all seven cards in a clear box for him and I hope he likes it. =)

For My Hairdresser… or Yours

Sweetie Pie

Are you a hairdresser?  Or like most of us… just go to one?  I hit that magical time when the hair coloring is now a standing appointment every six weeks.

I wear my hair like the middle Sweetie Pie… long. After 16 years of going to Teresa, I decided that giving her card that fit her profession was long overdue!

She’s so passionate about her profession I know she will love it as much as I have loved going to her for the past 16 years.

Are you a hairdresser?  If so, I have a FREE gift for you.  I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to give one of these cards to your all time favorite customer.

Here’s how to get your free card: …this offer is limited, you have until Saturday, April 12th to send me an email ( with your mailing address.

What else will I do for you that will benefit you… Take a picture giving this card to your customer and I will feature you on a future blog post!  Who doesn’t like FREE advertising!?

I have subscribers around the world and all over the country.  If you’re not a hairdresser and know of a hairdresser that would benefit from the FREE offer forward them this link right now.

Sweetie Pie

Lesson Learned:  Did you notice anything different from Blonde Sweetie Pie?  I’ll wait while you scroll up to take a closer look ——- great, you’re back.

How did I make it look like she was smiling instead of frowning?  Easy!  I used my real red Stampin’ Write Marker and made the frown go up. You too can make these simple handmade cards.  Just stamp the images right on the Whisper White card stock.

Doesn’t get any easier than that. If you know any hairdresser who you think would benefit from this post… forward it to them.  Perhaps they can make these cards for their clients. =)

Here’s what I would love for you to do… leave a comment below and tell me if you have become friends with the person who cuts your hair?

Manly Monday: Hi Love

Hello Love

When I see a tree I’m reminded of  a tall (everything is tall to me… I’m 5’1″) strong masculine figure.  When a tree is cut & prepared  to become wood for the production of furniture, a home, or beautiful ‘hardwood’ floors it remains sturdy and strong the way the men in my life are (I have five brothers, plus my dad and a husband).

For this reason I am so in love with the Hardwood stamp.  The possibilities are endless and in case you missed it, you can see my previous hardwood stamp card right here.  Even after it retires I will NEVER sell it as I do my other retired stamps that you can just happen to see right here.

This is a very Quick & Easy card to make too.  Let me explain how I did it.  First, I cut an 8-1/2′ x 11′ in whisper white card stock in half to give me a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2′ standard A2 size card.

Second, I stamped the entire card in Old Olive ink and then stamped three of the Banner Blast stamps on whispher white, and two with White Stazon.  I then punched them out with the banner punch, which you can no longer get for free, but I will be giving my stamp set and punch for free… keep reading to find out how.

Finally, I used glue dots to adhee the banner to the left over Baker’s Twine from a previous project.  It was that Quick and Easy![clear-line]
