An Eclectic Gracias En Español

Thank You Spanish

This cute little simple card measures 3 x 3″ and it was my first time using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  It’s been out for a little while, but I can tell you this much…it’s a keeper!  You can check out all the cool cards others have made with this awesome set here.

JUNE ON-LINE ORDERS: Receive a sample (one of each) Expressions Natural Elements when you place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code: 7XAYE9K4

NO CONTACT – What it really means.  When you select “No Contact” when you place your on-line order it literally means, “Don’t tell Maggie I placed an order.”  I will not be told who  you are and can’t send you the free product samples.  I would love for you to instead check-mark, “YES, allow my demonstrator to contact me with order updates and other important information.”  Please know that I will never send you junk mail. I want to show you how much I truly appreciate your business.

HIT IT AND QUIT IT.  What do I mean by this?  I’d like to tell you how you and ONE friend (surely you have more than one) can hit it on a great starter kit deal and then just quit it.  Since I only want serious people to read what I have to say, I seriously think you should click here to read the details, but only if you’re serious.

Three Candy Dots with CYCI #69

Happy Birthday Spanish

Today’s card is sort of a good-bye to the Spanish market of Stampin’ Up!  They will not longer produce stamp sets in Spanish and for many of us bilingual demonstrators, it a little sad. But, have no fear, I will continue to come up with innovative ways to make certain my Spanish heritage is represented with my own Spanish versions.  Onward to the CanYouCaseIt Sketch Challenge #69.

Happy Birthday Spanish3
Happy Birthday Spanish2

As I reached the end of compling this challenge card I looked at it and thought to myslef, “Self, what is missing on here?”  Before I could answer myself my hand reach for the Candy Dots. I show both photos because I want you too see for yourself the difference three Candy Dots made.  Just like an Almond Joy…sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t…LOL!

The one thing that will make my day today is if you too joined me at Can You Case It.  You know you want to and I want you to do it too!  Don’t make me beg!  Paticipating in challenges is good for the soul and it relaxes the mind to bring out some creative flow.

  • Use your scraps.  Did you notice anything on the Daffodil Delight card stock?  It was a scrap I didn’t throw away after I messed up the embossing.  In my jounrey to keep every piece of scrap piece larger than one inch…I’m glad I held on to this one.  I scored it every 1/2″ an inch both horizontally and diagnally.  It just gave it a little lift off the edge on the layered. Why do I mention it?  To remind you to always hang on to your scraps…they really do come in handy later on.

Sneak Peak.  Don’t worry, if you missed it…you can still see it here.

My Story.  I shared my personal story with a new friend (Brenda) last week and this week I’ll be sharing it with all of you.  I hope you come back and check it out too.  It’s pretty exciting too!  From struggle to disappointment and then triumph!  There’s a little secret out there that should be shared with the world.  Better yet, type in your email address below and you’ll be notified when I blog it and you won’t miss it.

Buenos Pensamientos – Good Thoughts

Spanish Sending Good Thoughts

You’d rather make a handmade card then to waste gas and run to the store and buy one. Besides you look for new ideas for project because you know that making something yourself is more thoughtful and meaningful.

You don’t have time, you’re in a hurry to get something else done, but you want to make a card yet another day escapes you. We ALL have days like this and it’s okay because this time you are going to make one in less than 15 minutes.

I’m going to tell you how.

Spanish Sending Good Thoughts

Make everything square or rectangular.  When you need to make something in a hurry keep it simple.  Less is more and you don’t need too much hoopla to make it pretty and meaningful.  Tie it off with the bright ribbon to make it holler a dash of color and there you go!  The perfect gift for family or loved one. I guarantee that only took 10 minutes because I made it.

As a follow-up to my subscribers… I’ve sent a few emails to the chosen responders, so we can close up the interview today.  Also remember you have a $25 shopping spree waiting for your participation (NO STRINGS ATTACHED).  There are a couple that are pending the interview and you have until tomorrow to respond or lose your $25 shopping spree to others who responded.

What!? You didn’t respond… well I’m extending the offer to you until Monday.  Go back and search your inbox because that’s where it’s at.  I won’t be doing another offer like this for quite a while.  Who doesn’t want a $25 shopping spree!?

Think of just ONE person whom you think is a very busy person, but would love to make a handmade card…. now forward them this post and I will teach them how to make something different at least a couple times a week.

Something Special Especially for You!

This is the second card of a co-ed bilingual workshop this month.  You can make this card with a circle framelit or punch, but if you have neither get a bottle, a can, a small bowl… draw a circle around it and cut it with scissors.  Yes! It’s that simple to cut the circles for this cute card.  The colors give it a cool Summer-y (is that even a word) feel with a hint of a breeze from the rain that’s headed this way (wishful thinking)  LOL

Dulces Detalles… Sweet Details

Sweet Details (translation) for honeycomb paper.  In preparation for my first ever co-ed bilingual workshop this month I came up with this design to show off.  The design is simple enough for beginners, yet enough little bling for advanced card makers.  Couples who stamp together stay together.  Perfect way to relax and involve the family in the best all time hobby!

I’m beyond excited for this class to take place in Sacramento.  I’ve never had a bilingual workshop and I can’t contain myself.  I’ve already created the card that will be put together, but I don’t want to show it until the day of class… LOL

Out of This World BIG SHOT Promotion:  All I can say is WOW!  You are in for a treat because when you buy a Big Shot, you also receive a FREE bundle  that includes framelits and stamps set.  Click here to view see with your own eyes what I’m talking about.

My Dad’s Mustache

The mustache is in right now, both on men (maybe some women…LoL), and I see it on so many craft items everywhere I go… I LOVE IT!  I especially love the mustache because my dad has had a mustache ever since first shaved… imagine that! Who do you know has had a mustache YOUR whole life that you don’t even know what they look like without one?

During a brief conversation with another demo I was given a little insider secret.  A few of us were told that we should get the mustache framelit and after seeing the Holiday catalog I knew why we were told that.  I tell YOU, be prepared to WoW those that you make a Christmas card for if you have the framelit of course! (LOL)

Word for Word Translations are Funny

Spanish MPP

That’s Great… Enjoy… This Day – This is how it reads literally translated.  No wonder some people don’t understand me… LOL.   I sometimes feel as if some people may not understand the way I explain things.

I’m just joking, but seriously, there are times when I have to think things through a little more than the average person because I also think in Spanish as I write in English.  I know some of you are knodding yes… because you know it’s true.[clear-line]

Eso es genial … Disfrute …

Spanish MPP2

Lesson Learned: This lesson is an old one you’ve heard over and over again.  Yet I will continue to preach it… why?  Because it’s true!  THERE ARE NO MISTAKES IN STAMPING.  If you make a mistake, it can be covered up with an embellishment or do what I did here and turn the paper to the other side… =)  Did you see how easy that was?[clear-line]

Project Life!

Please leave a comment below… tell me if you have ever used card kits to make cards… if so, which one’s?

My whole purpose of this blog is to share my simple handmade cards with as many people as possible and I can’t do it without your help, so go on and share.

If you could pass this post along to at least one friend who you think would love to learn about card kits
that would be great!

Buenos Pensamientos… Good Thoughts

Good Thoughts

I hope by now you have seen the versatility with the Blessed Easter stamp.  It has, hands down, become my favorite Spring stamp since making the tulips behind the fence.  If you didn’t get to see it…click here.

Good Thoughts

Lesson Learned:  Don’t be afraid to add a darker color when picking out Spring colors.  After I created the quick & easy layout I felt like something was missing… and I wanted to add a small pop of color.  Would you believe that the chocolate chip card stock was a tiny piece that was left over from a different project!?  Don’t be afraid to add a darker color when added tiny details.

I want to take this moment to tell you about the Circle of Pals.  We are a group of crafters who enjoy not just in-person friendships, but also a true virtual connection.  Click here to find out what makes us special.

It’s important for you to know that I offer a no pressure membership into the Circle of Pals.  I’m all about SAVING you money and suggesting how to MAXIMIZE product for less money.  Something you will NOT find elsewhere.

While I’m at it… I’d like to give Amy J., Michelle C., and Donna L. a very warm SHOUT OUT and WELCOME to the Circle of Pals!  You have made a wise choice… I promise you that your lives are about to become much sweeter than it already was!  You have just joined a Stampin’ Up! group that is bigger than anything you have ever dreamed of.

Hola Tarjeta Masculina

Hola/HiPara leer en español, haga clic en la bandera de España en el lado derecho.

I know that as card-makers we tend to make more girly/feminine type cards.  Guys are not into rhinestones, pearls, or ribbon, so we tend to shy away from making them until we absolutely need them.  In honor of all the men in our lives, I have started posting a masculine card at least once a week (if you haven’t noticed by now)… LOL.  You can find last weeks card here. Hola/Hi When designing a masculine card you do not need to continually utilize dark colors.  But you do need to throw in there the macho nacho feel.  Having been raised in a Latino household I know too well the machismo that comes with the male gender.  In all honesty, the Latin men in my life are macho nacho on the outside, but teddy bears on the inside… LOL.  Go on and don’t forget to add a pop of soft color to lighten up this perfect designer series paper for a personalized card for the men in your life. Hola/Hi I’m putting out a call out for local area (Solano County) interested crafters.  I’m offering FREE beginner card-making classes the first Thursday of every month.  But you must sign up here.  I want to ensure I have enough supplies ready for you to learn this fun hobby. You will leave with your own handmade card and will understand the simple creativity of paper crafting.  Learn the paper basics while having fun in a completely relaxed environment. You & I In Spanish & Show Me Video

Oprima La Bandera Española  al Ariba al Lado Derecho Para Leer en Español

My bilingual experience since childhood is quite an eye-opener for me when I  had to translate for my ama (mom) everywhere we went.  She took me everywhere… to the grocery store, bank, doctor’s office, and I loved it!

I’m glad my mom took me along because it made me realize that you don’t always have to say, “my mom said…blah blah blah”.  Proper translations are always in the first person and it’s difficult to master… when you’re only 6 years old… LOL.

Select English Flag on Upper Right Hand Side to Translate
